Seriously delusional buyer, no payment, very very weird

Ok I was contacted by someone on Ebay, they asked would I accept a payment via Nochex. I replied if that was the only way he could pay me, then yes I would set up an account. So then he buys the item via BIN.

After setting up the Nochex account, well, the email conversation basically goes like this ...

So here I write a nice email explaining it is not even possible for me to recieve money from an unregistered nochex user - because I have a standard account - not a sellers account - and so cannot recieve money from non-nochex members through Quick-send. I point him to the Nochex Page which states that. I advise him to contact Nochex and/or his bank to find out where his alleged payment went. Now he says :-

It's just so stupid its unbelievable. Its like he is winding me up on purpose . Accusing ME of 'frauding' him ?! That's complete crap, no sane person would possibly jump to conclusions like that .


The most odd thing about it is his feedback is 60, 100% positive. All comments say positive things such as 'instant payment' & 'great ebayer' etc etc

What I find so odd is that he was so keen to make the transaction through Nochex - yet now, when I look at the items he has for sale - he accepts paypal - and says paypal only !!

Sorrry, I know its a long read. But it might be entertaining for someone.

Any advise would be great.

What payment methods do you state in your auction? The bloke seems to be a wanna be gangster. Email him back and ask him to pay you via paypal. If not and he carries on to give you this crap just tell him to report you to whoever he wants. When and if he reports you explain yourself to Square Trade, at least they understand logic mate

In my auctions I say I accept Paypal.

If he has got good feedback in the past then i really cant see his problem with you, but as long as you are sure that you have not got his money let him report you if thats what he feels he needs to do, Square Trade and Ebay will see that you are not in the wrong and its sorted.

I definitely have no payment - if i understand rightly, its impossible for him to have sent money to me (with a standard account) through Quicksend without being registered anyway !

I sent him an email telling him again to contact Nochex, cancel or whatever, and pay by paypal. Wonder what awaits now.

It doesn't really matter whether or not the buyer has a receipt for his payment, if the seller doesn't have the payment that is all that really matters.

The buyer pushed the OP into accepting nochex, IMO the buyer should now sort it all out with no further inconvenience to the selller.

Also don't forget that like paypal, nochex charge to withdraw balances of less than £50, so this transaction might end up costing the OP more than he expects.

Quicksend payments are sent to whichever email address the payer wants and if that email address doesn't have an account associated with it then..

"If you don't have a NOCHEX account then depending on who you are sending money to you may be asked to sign up for a full NOCHEX account."

I notice from your email quotes that you use hotmail.com while 2Pac - from beyond the grave - uses a hotmail.co.uk domain. I'll bet the problem is something as simple as the eejit confusing the domains when sending you the Quicksend payment.. You should ask him to confirm exactly what email address he sent the payment to.

Oh, one other even more likely explanation is that the payment has not been intercepted by NoChex - since you don't have a sellers account - and instead has gone straight to your Hotmail Junk Mail folder. I would definitely check there ASAP as things tend to get purged from it pretty quickly.

I've asked for a reciept/transaction number and he shouted back he hasn't got any.

And I've checked all my email folders of my email accounts, coincidentally I have the hotmail.co.uk account too. - And nothing!


Continuing from that last email in the original post, I repled that I have not got his payment, and told him again that it is not possible for me to recieve his payment using the method he said he used. I suggest to him again to contact Nochex to find out where his money has gone.

He replies :

So again, I explain what I have done in the last few emails. And tell him again to contact Nochex. I ask him for the transaction number/reciept, and also ask him why he was so eager to pay via Nochex when he accepts paypal and paypal only on all his auction items.


I get this back :-

I CANT PAY YOU VIA PAYPAL AS IVE GOT NO FUNDS IN MY PAYPAL ACCOUNT!!!!!!!!!!!

AND IF I REQUESTED FUNDS FROM A BANK ACCOUNT THEN IT WOULDVE TOOK UPTO A WEEK, AND I COULDNT WAIT THAT LONG!!!!!!

I GOT NO TRANSACTION OR NOTHING! BUT I 100 PERCENT CHECKED THAT MY MONEY HAS GONE FROM MY ACCOUNT!!!

YOU ARE FRAUDING ME!!!!!!
