Does Ns&i email any confirmation after purchasing additional bonds? I went to buy some this morning got so far as saying i want to buy some, did not have to input my card details and now says i cant buy anymore because ive reached the limit. Should i just assume its gone through? Nothing different on my account and no money taken from my card yet.

If you didn't get as far as inputting your card details, then you won't have bought any. When you buy Premium Bonds with a debit card, you should get an email with the title 'Receipt for Debit Card Transaction' almost immediately, presuming that they have up-to-date contact details for you.0

Hi.the limit is £50,000, are you there?0

This happened to me last year. As you began the transaction, it is treating that amount as a pending value - not from your payment card, just on the allowable remaining premium bond value. I had to wait a day or so for their system to release this value before I could begin the purchase transaction again. Think of it like theatre tickets in a basket while you complete the purchase. No one else can buy those slots. NS&I unfortunately took days rather than just 15 or so minutes to invalidate the first attempt.0

I cannot answer the 2nd point about the limit being reached unless as asked you are already at 50k then no you cannot buy, but with regards do ns&i notify you when you buy additional amounts for me it works as follows
I submit an electronic transfer from my bank and a few hours later / the next day I get a text saying they have received the monies
A couple of days later I get another text saying I have a secure message, this is then the bond numbers and telling me i need to hold for a full month before enetered into a draw.
So yes they keep me informed all teh way throughChallenges
