Opening an ISA from a joint bank account

Hi. I have a joint bank (deposit) account with my wife. At the moment the account contains plenty of funds. So, I've just opened my first ISA (I'm new to this) obviously in my own name, and transferred the maximum amount of money allowed to it from the joint bank account.
Can my wife open her own ISA (obviously in her own name), and transfer money to it from our joint bank account?
Please forgive if this question has been asked before! Thanks in advance.

Comments

  • Why would you think that your wife would be unable to open her own ISA?

The source of funds is irrelevant to funding the ISA unless being transferred from another ISA.

  • Thanks for confirming - that's what I expected but needed to be sure. very much appreciated
