Switching from Plusnet to Vodafone

Hello
Have been with Plusnet for over 10 years , but their full fibre offer does not support land line connected to router
So off to Vodafone , Ive got 1 month left of Plusnet contract, do I need to contact Plusnet to let them know , or just set up new contract with Vodafone and will they inform Plusnet and perform switch over

Many thanks Steve

Initiate the transfer to Vodafone and they will deal with Plusnet for you. Do not give notice to Plusnet as that can cause complications.

No, you just contract with the new supplier around 10-14 days before your minimum term ends and then start praying that your landline number makes the transfer with Vodafone.

    Good luck.

Yes, you aren't out of contract, the minimum commitment term is ending and you will move onto a rolling monthly contract. Typically on Openreach ISP's it takes 10-14 days to initiate the transfer so that gets it as close as possible to your date. You may end up paying another month on Plusnet but will get that pro-rata's back to you.

Vodafone are one of the ISP's with the highest number of complaints per customer and a higher proportion of complaints about people losing their number as part of the transfer. Plusnet are at the other end of the scale and near the lowest number of compaints per customer.

Hopefully it will all be straight forward for you and you won't need to tackle their customer service.
  • Many thanks for your help much appreciated

We've been with them for the past two years , transferred from BT FTTP to VF FTTP. Don't know hat their customer service is like as we've never used it.

Transfer from BT to VF happened on the day it should with less than five minutes down time. Mainly because I set up the VF router to have the same SSID and Password as the old BT router so it was just a case of swapping all the connections, including the phone and it all worked just as it should and has done ever since.
