Put in an official complaint (the process will be on their website). Where I used to work there was a guide to how much you could offer. But you could always say I would like compensation but not say an amount and see what is offered?0

To get things done you have to kick up a fuss. Tell them you are contacting your local councillor and local press as this is completely unacceptable.
