Yes so once delivered, you have proof of delivery. Same as everything that is sent insured.

@sarah1972, the website 'Check my Postcode' says,
'EH3 1FY is a defunct large user postcode in Gorgie, Edinburgh. This postcode was deleted in October 2022.'

I live near Edinburgh and know the area. That location on Broughton Street is a rather run down second-hand goods shop with a couple of storeys of presumably flats or offices above.
I would be wary of sending anything valuable there. You might never see it again.
It would only be sent recorded and insured so you would be covered.
Is that to the value of the ring?
As not uncommon for (compensation, as couriers do not do insurance, as that is a regulated product) it to be a fixed amount, rather than the actual value.

    From their T/C

A confirmation e-mail including the return label and a copy of the form you have filled out will be sent to your e-mail address upon submission. Please print and enclose this form in your return parcel. Please note that your return request will be processed based on the information that you submit online. Any handwritten notes on the printed copy of the return form will not be taken into consideration.

Pack your item(s) securely before shipping. We suggest that you send your item via an insured, traceable shipping method. GLAMIRA does not take responsibility for the loss or damage of items in transit.

The postcode just seems to locate to the sorting office at Murrayfield. I wouldn't be so sure that the PO Box subscriber is even to be found at Broughton Street (though I think Royal Mail are supposed to tell you their address if you ask?).

Exactly, so if you were to return anything to them you would pay for an insured shipping method as I said.

I guess the point I am making is that these fora are flooded with instances of sender having a delivery confirmation but people saying they have not received it

sending the ring to some weird postcode may indeed mean that you get to the delivery confirmation only to find Glamira flatly deny receiving it!

the problem is less likely to be the ring being lost in the post than what happens to it once it has arrived

Yes it is an odd one sending it to a PO Box, I know what you mean.

Not sure where anyone would stand with that but I was on the understanding that if you have it insured and it gets ‘lost’ you are covered.

I emailed them yesterday asking and got this reply.

We understand your concern about shipping a valuable item such as your GLAMIRA Ring. To give you peace of mind, please know that your shipment is fully insured by us during the return transit. You can confidently use the DPD shipping label we provided earlier to send the ring back for resizing. Remember to include the printed return form with the ring in the package.

If you have any further questions or need additional assistance, please don't hesitate to get in touch.

    Regards,
    Andrea Bernardo

Thats interesting as it totally contradicts their T/C on returns.

Absolutely! I questioned that and they said if you don’t use the supplied dpd label then your quote above applies.
