Family TV deal.. I'm clueless

Options
Need advice.  We need a new TV.
Looking 50-60 inches.
Led is ok..  Oled is so expensive.
What should we be looking for?
Seen things like ultra hd 4k.
But no idea what that means.
Just want to watch TV  and be able to watch netflix,  amazon,  itv player,  4od, bbc iplayer.
Although if other fun stuff can be done..
I think we're old and have no idea any more😂

If you don't know what it is or what it does you don't need it, but you'll probably get it anyway. :)

Whats your budget?  And what do you mean by" fun stuff"?

    Budget?

If you have the Premium Netflix, Amazon Prime etc then they can be broadcast in 4K and ideally you would want HDR10+ and Dolby Vision to get the best out of it.

How bright is the room it will be going in, will it be facing a window? If it isn't this then avoid the retina burning Samsung QLED TV's. Ideally avoid any Samsung as they tend not to support Dolby Vision.

LED is ok, but is edge lit so not as consistent as OLED or MLED which are more expensive but much better quality.

Do you have a Richer Sounds near you. Their sale starts tomorrow and always used to be good for advice

Take a walk round Curry's they usually have a large display and see what takes your fancy

Make a note of the serial number then

    Buy from somewhere else

Not sure I’d buy a Bush. For similar money could get a ‘proper’ brand

Don't buy a Bush, it's just a rebadged generic TV made in Turkey by Vestel.
There are Hisense, LG and TCL models in the Argos line up that would be better.

Look for one that has a minimum of 3 hdmi connections with one of them being hdmi arc compatible.

The latter function is ideal for connecting a soundbar which is something else you will probably need in order to get decent sound quality.
