Anyone had any experience with talkmobile

My contract with EE is up and I have found a good deal with talkmobile. £7.95 a month. I know they use the vodaphone network which has good coverage but I'm cautious that as I've been with EE for a long time I might notice a difference in speeds. Anyone have experience with them?

  • Talkmobile is owned and run by Vodafone.

I'm in the same position, I'd prefer to stay with vodafone as the service all round has been good and I've not used other smaller operators. Have you tried to negotiate with EE, I'm going to see if Vodafone can get within a couple of pounds then I would probably stay with them else move.

Best EE could offer me was 30gb for £10. I also like the fact that talkmobile have free eu roaming. I travel to Spain a few times a year and the roaming pass is expensive. Either £2.90 a day or £25 month

I have a good vodafone signal and Talkmobile has been fine for me. I also use it as a backup for WFH.I 'm on the edge of g coverage and often get over 200mps.I believe their roaming is limited to 5gb per month if this matters
  • Thanks @flashg67 I've decided to try them out. I might be getting a 5g handset soon, how do you find their 5g coverage? I think if you hit the 5gb cap abroad they will send a text before charging you.

Been with Talkmobile for 2.5 years now and think they are great. Used to be with EE using a signal boost after they removed the local mast, but it was a nightmare. A Vodafone mast was put up in the next village and my DDs and I moved to them. We have all had our data increased and our monthly cost lowered this year - I'm not sure there are many who can say the same. It worked fine in the USA and Canada and DD1 has used her phone in much of W Europe with no issue. When we first got the SIMcards and struggled to connect, their online chat was really helpful.

Go to https://www.vodafone.co.uk and select "Network Status Checker" top RHS. Put your postcode in the box when it appears.
