I haven’t been very successful selling stuff on FB marketplace, but the one time I made a sale I was paid cash on collection. It seems like a scammer's paradise.

I think it’s great that people feel able to ask if something is a scam, and no-one should be criticised for doing so, there would be a lot less successful scams if more people felt able to ask without fear of being made to feel stupid.

It’s easy to fall for a scam if you are not used to how some sites work, maybe don’t go online much, don’t have a circle of friends and and families who discuss this sort of thing etc.  I have a relative who nearly fell for this type of scam, but luckily they felt able to talk to some of us about it so we were able to guide them and also give them tips on what to look out for in the future.

Op it’s possible you may get follow up messages from the ‘buyer’ saying they have paid you the £200, possibly with a screen shot to prove they have paid it, and asking you to return the money.  This is all part of the scam and they will have created the screenshot themselves and not paid you anything.

You clearly thought that this didn’t seem right, hence you coming here to ask the question, so trust your instincts they have proved right.

Incidentally, I ran Gokoins through a virus checker, and the site itself seemed okay at the time.

Easy, they are expecting the seller to ship an item , perhaps they may send another email purporting to be from the bitcoin wallet saying funds are held until the tracking details are supplied. 

It’s a common and obvious poor attempt at a scam, but enough people will fall for it to make it worth the effort. These messages will be generated to the sellers in milliseconds, thousands at a time. 9999 sellers will call it as a scam, perhaps 1 will believe it. Do this every few minutes 24/7 and they will generate goods to sell.
