INR case is allowed just enter the QR code in tracking and select Royal Mail this will help your case.
I disagree, an INR case is only ‘helped’ with proof of delivery. Proof of anything else including printing a postage label or even posting does not assist in any way.

Standard parcels don’t show any updates on tracking until such time they are delivered.

Royal Mail 1st class large letter £2.60 states Great value fast delivery without tracking with free collection on RM click & drop website.
It looks as though the OP paid for a service that does not offer tracking.

I have just logged into my account and it doesn't even let me see all my past orders "Please note that we are unable to display payments for our Redirection service at this time"

  • Sadly it looks like you cheaped out on postage. We all learn these lessons

Are you in the right bit of the RM page since you mention redirection, which isn't to do with parcels sent?

If I log into my RM account 'click and drop' there is a tab that says 'previous purchases' on the left hand side directly under where the RM logo is. If I click there I can see all my purchases - I've gone back well over a year and they are all in there. I only use RM click and drop though for non ebay packages usually, but I don't often pay for any upgrades and most of my large letters show delivery confirmation numbers. I also get emails with my receipt from RM and that shows any delivery confirmation number as well.

For my ebay items I print direct from ebay, and then my parcels and large letters automatically add the tracking or delivery confirmation number to the sale so I can always go back and refer to it.

Basically though as above, if you have no way of proving delivery , and it's a shame you didn't upload details at the point of despatch just in case it has been delivered, then you will have to refund.

I have put a claim in with RM for the loss. I don't like using Ebay postage as the RM options are limited and don't allow to have it picked up from your house like you can direct from RM's website.

Yes you can arrange pick up for all services, and eBay have now added in the missing large letter rate band so it is identical to the RM site.

To arrange collection, buy the label then on the right hand side of the postage option page under the address there is a link to arrange collection. All eBay items can be collected, even letters and large letters.

Thank you Soolin. As always you are the Ebay oracle :-

From now on I shall order my postage through Ebay

Sadly it looks like you cheaped out on postage. We all learn these lessons
If the item is under £20 there is no need to pay for more expensive postage. Proof of postage and the value of the item should be enough to get a refund from Royal Mail for private sellers. Other services are only really needed for items over £20, or if you really get a lot of claims you want to defend on eBay and even then the standard small parcel proof of delivery is enough to defend an eBay claim.

The problem at Christmas is once the day comes a lot of buyers will be looking for a refund, if Royal Mail then deliver before they pay out the claim you are a bit stuck.

With managed payments it's not easy to get the buyer to repay, if the buyer returns the item you are out two lots of postage, a lot of buyers will ignore you which is frustrating and for those that don't you'll feel bad at the trouble you are putting them though over something of such small value.

I know years ago with Recorded Delivery the answer was put a £ in a jar and at the end of the year you'd have more in the jar than you've given in refunds but with Tracked 48 being so little extra for the peak time of your it's a decent service.

The only downside for Tracked is Royal Mail doesn't appear to offer compensation for late post so you won't get a book of stamps if they take 2 weeks to deliver but fortunately that occurrence seems very rare.
