Doesn't matter. You can't lose
Don't forget to appeal - NOT USING the template appeal. Just tell them this is clearly a 'double dip' as you & other drivers use that site daily, and they must check for the missing ANPR orphan images and damn well erase your data IMMEDIATELY as there was no 'reasonable cause' to buy it from the DVLA..PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I'd change "whom has shopped" to "who has shopped". It helps to use correct grammar when you want to be taken seriously. Also, I agree with previous advice that hyperbole is unhelpful and that if you have reason to think that this is a double dip case (i.e. two separate short visits where they've recorded the entrance time of the first visit and the exit time of the second visit but missed the intervening exit and entry) then say so. Maybe something along the following lines will do the trick:
I am writing this letter as a parent and customer who has shopped in your retail park for the past 2 years. I have recently received a parking charge notice from your parking contractor, Group Nexus, which has obviously been issued in error. It claims (falsely) that my car was parked in your car park for 45 hours. My family lives in Delves lane, merely 5 minutes drive from the retail centre and do our weekly shopping there. We also regularly attend a gym in the retail park. Obviously we would never leave the car there for 45 hours when we live 5 minutes down the road. I think this is most likely a case of the well known "double dip" phenomenon whereby the entry time of one visit has been tied to the exit time of a later visit, without picking up the intervening exit and entry, though it might equally be the result of the cameras being incorrectly calibrated and picking up the car in the road outside the retail park.
Whatever the cause of the error, the car was certainly not parked in your car park for 45 hours. Please therefore instruct your parking contractor to cancel the PCN.

Thank you all for your help with this, I'll send send the above letter by @troublemaker22, that seems the most reasonable. Thank you all again and merry Christmas.0

personally i would go straight for a breach of GDPR approach, there needs to be a zero tolerance to double dips and any PPc that has a double dip incident should be prevented from accessing the DVLA database until they put propper controls in placeTo give you an idea go in with something like this ( but without the typos/spelling mistakes)To the car park ownerTo whom this may concern, on (date) my vehcile entered your car park and then left again after spending X minutes/hours inside, the following day the vehcile then re entered the car park and left again.Your agents, Group nexus for who's actions you are jointly and severally liable for issued myself, as registered keeper a parking charge notice stating that the vehicle was on site for 45 hours .This data is incorreect and it would appear that you ( through your agents actions) have failed to put in place steps to ensure that the data gathered is accurate. The Acuracy of data is a key component of GDPR and as a result of this you have caused stress, anxiety and have used my valuable time in dealing with this incomepetence caused as a direct result in you allowing an un regulated parkng company ( neither the BPA limited or the IPC are regualtory bodys oor authoritys) relying upon flawed technology alone (anpr) and it wold appear that you have no reasonable checks in place to ensure the accuracy of the data provided by ANPR - such as foot patrols and manned entry/exit points. To prevent this breach of GDPR being taken further you must take the followinig actions:the immmedate cancellation of this parking charge noticeThe removal/disabling of the flawed ANPR systema full and un redacted appology from youto recompense me for my time wasted in dealing with this imcompetence at £19/hour which equates to three hours £57 , as a gesture of goodwill i wil settle for £50 ( i will accept this sum from either you or your agents, group Nexus)I look forward to your reply and confirmation that this mater has been resolved, and to hear that you have taken immediate steps to ensure it never happens againTo the PPC:Un authorised access and processing of personal data/Data rectification noticeOn date /time my vehicle entered car park name, and then made a second trip at /on date/time.Your flawed use of ANPR cameras without any reasonaable checks ( ie manned entry /exit points and foot patrols) recorded this as one long stay totalling x hoursData accuracy is a key component of GDPR and you must take steps to ensure that the data you gather is accurate and up to date , it would appear that you fail to do these basic steps .As a gesture of goodwill i will be willing not to pursue this matter further as long as you take the follwoing steps:The immediate cessation of pursuing this pakring charge notice and the correction of your records - this also serves as a data rectification notice as per GDPR.A full and unredacted appology from you over this matterto recompense me for my time wasted in dealing with this imcompetence at £19/hour which equates to three hours £57 , as a gesture of goodwill i wil settle for £50( i will accept this from either you or your principal car park owner)I look forward to your reply and confirmation that this mater has been resolved, and to hear that you have taken immediate steps to ensure it never happens again

And another one bites the dust. Just appealed saying what @Coupon-mad advised, double dipping, and they've withdrawn it. Thank you for your help.3

If you are still using the site daily then it will happen again every time the cameras see your numberplate. Not good enough, is it?
Complain to the landowner immediately.
This is not OK. The site does not need ANPR churning out fake fines like confetti after harvesting registered keeper data from the DVLA with no reasonable cause.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

It's certainly not enough at all. I have emailed the land owner before I appealed but haven't heard anything back from them.1
