We usually have fish (lighter fare before a big meal with all the trimmings). Although, if we're at the in laws, we often have a bit of a buffet including the obligatory farm shop pork pie.Make £2025 in 2025- £37.95/£2025

I've not decided yet what we'll have but I will keep it simple and light as so much rich food over the christmas period so probably either fish or pasta1

We normally have nibbles, i.e. party food from Iceland! But this year we are going to have a fish finger sandwich with tartare sauce, and maybe a few chips and salad on the side!

we always used to have fish pie on Christmas eve. In recent years we've found Christmas dinner itself is way too much to stomach with all the trimmings so we're having the trimmings we enjoy on Christmas eve instead. It will be pigs in blankets with roast parsnips & topped with a fried egg. Followed by hot chocolate fudge cake and home made ice cream. Christmas dinner will be a simple roast leg of lamb, carrot and swede mash ,sprouts, roast potatoes & gravy. Much easier to manage & there's only the two of us to please so we can do what we like0

European tradition in Catholic countries is always fish on Christmas Eve because it was a fast day until Vatican II. Not a fast day any longer but it still seems a good idea to have something a bit less rich in advance of all the feasting on meat over the next few days. Probably a fish pie though I sometimes get a salmon en croute from LidlIt doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!0
