Barclays deemed 4th floor flat close to Central London to have no sustainable resale potential

I saw a London flat I loved but it was a roof extension so 2 floors then a further 4 flights of tiny narrow stairs ~(no lift) . I did not really notice the lift til my older friend came and pointed them out. I am v fit but the thought of dragging my cases up and down narrow staircases as I travel a lot for work meant I decided against it. even though I loved it. So sadly it does make sense that banks think stairs no lift does limit resale..
Hope you find a broker though that will help.DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

As I said on the first page I suspect it is because of the additional requirements of the Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022 regarding cladding, in the wake of the Grenfell fire.
We do have similar regs here in Scotland for buildings over 11m high (the Building Scotland (Amendment) Regulations 2022) but Scottish tenements seldom if ever have external cladding.0 -

I don't think a top floor would be suitable for people with young families, or people with mobility issues.
You can't predict the future though, someone buying a 5th floor no lift flat could easily end up having kids or mobility issues during the mortgage term.
I suspect the issue is more to do with fire/safety regulations than concerns about suitability though.

I don't know, I had seen similar criteria many years before Grenfell.Herzlos said:
