I would rather see any money they have to pay out goes to cleaning up our waterways.4

As KP above suggests,
We would all get a lot more benefit from them spending the money on sorting out the problems than giving us all a couple of quid, which most of us will end up paying back ten times over in the future through higher bills.Never under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers2 -

Much better as you all say to clear up the mess they have made. In the long run it will save us all money as we won't find ourselves having to boil all our water or buy bottled as that is where we are heading.
