WOW!! You've made this challenge so beautiful!

I must admit, I am jealous of the physical envelopes. When @LittleMissDetermined mentioned opening the envelopes the other day, I felt like I'm really missing out, but then it makes it too difficult for me to achieve, so I'll have to stick online.

It definetly makes it more exciting to have all the envelopes collected up and then open them all at the end! But it's not terribly MSE as the money could be gaining intetest if it was banked regularly!

    ⭐My rambling savings Diary ~⭐
  • I did the physical ones for this last year and used coloured envelopes, I will see if I can find a pic… this year I have a decent interest rate on my savings so I will be doing it virtually. Any interest I earn I can add to my sealed pot.

I'm loving all these envelopes and money tins @~FlowerPot~ and @LittleMissDetermined! So pretty and colourful.

I lacked discipline earlier this year and opened all the envelopes early and can't for the life of me remember what I spent it on! 🤦🏾‍♀️ So I'm adding mine to a poundland tin this year, that I can't open unless I hack it open with a tin opener. And I've made a tracker to help me stay motivated and cross them off as I go along. I'm determined to finish this time as it'll be such an achievement.

I'm off the starting blocks with my first payment of £26.50 transferred to a separate savings account.

Stupidly excited about this challenge 🤗.  It was so lovely to be able to clear the cost of Xmas with the money saved,  a great feeling to know that I am starting 2024 without Xmas debt 😇

Thanks Lelly, and well done! I have added your first payment to the spreadsheet.

I think it's useful for those joining this year to see how much we benefitted from doing this last year... I combined mine with my sealed pot challenge to cover Christmas, holiday spending money and my black Friday trip away. I also have some left over in my general savings pot!

Saving is definitely better than spending.
