I do not like the clubcard prices but anything that appears regularly I will not buy unless it is on a clubcard price, otherwise I just feel like I have been cheated. I am lucky I know in that I can buy for "stores". But if they can sell for one week at £1 then why should I pay £1.50 the next just "because". I don't buy at Sains because the nearest one is several miles away so the nectar card only seems to get used on ebay & then eventually on Argos. I shop a lot at Aldi & home bargains. Why would I pay over £6 for something from T when I can get it for £5.49 at HB even with 6 points doubled up eventually to 12p and yes I watch the expiry dates which are so little different I am totally unconcerned. You can perhaps see though why I have spreadsheets on which I log all the above. Currently 27 tins of chopped tomatoes & 18 of red kidney beans. You get the picture.6

Oh thank you all for the info regarding MrS.
I agree that much of it is artificially inflating prices to then make the 'sale price' look jolly tremendous. It was just I had spotted several things, over time, in MrS, that I would buy, and the n*ctar price was competitive. And certainly they are less likely to n*ctar card their own brands - and if they have been price matched to MrAl, well then it's just a case of you buy eg tinned tomatoes because of the shop you happen to be in - you pay the same price.
But I shall be looking out for sneakiness, and the first sign of it, the card goes! Maybe such sneakiness is why former MrS shoppers seem to be piling into our local MrL in droves... 🤔
And thank you to kayannie for the info re petrol and BayofE.
Cheery - we haven't had the hailstones thank goodness, but we have had rain when I needed to be outside, and sunshine when indoor jobs have needed to be found. I have, however, spent the last "however long" asleep on the sofa 🙄Best shuffle orf and make pizza dough I guess.

Mr S is our closest shop, and while I was on medical leave & recuperating, the easiest indoor space to get to, to practice walking! Ours definitely give us the ambrosua price immediately and does and Mr A price match, so for a few things that we buy regularly there, we get bonus points and nectar prices as the app/website eventually learns your favorites and offers points.
We've never used scan and shop as last we checked, Mr S was not paying us salaries to be their cashiers, and we make a point of going to a real person not a self-service till! OH now goes first thing on a Monday morning after dropping me off at the train station & when they see him heading to the till, they quickly send over one of the staff (who was probably gabbing rather than working) to a till to check him out. Let's say he's not a patient man & very vocal about staff not doing their jobs correctly! (I'm sooooo glad I don't shop in store these days - LOL)4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! (24 OCT 2016)(With heartfelt thanks to those who have gone before us & their indubitable generosity.)...and now I have a mortgage! (23 AUG 2021)New projection - 14 YEARS 10 MONTHS LEFT OF 20 YEARS (reduced by 15 mths)Psst...I may have started a diary!4 -
