Good Morning MFW'rs
Why do I think a measure or two... of bourbon is a good idea on a Friday night? It doesn't agree with me, spirits haven't for a long time 🙁 Feeling slightly below par this morning, so I'm whispering as I type this...... 🤣 The bourbon was a gift to DH from someone, nearly 2 years ago, so at least when it's gone, we won't have it in the house, as we don't buy spirits anymore.
I'm not going to risk a wash today, as we're due rain. But it's a shame as we currently have blue skies and a wonderful breeze. At least with yesterday's endeavours I'm more caught up, so it's not so critical to get stuff out on the line.
I'm planning pizza and wedges for tea.
Has anyone seen the new 'in the style of Creature Comforts' trailers on the BBC website - very funny. I like the foxes one the best, I think, although they are all good.
RT - I'm not sure how many points I will actually accrue on the n*ctar card - although I must check if you can use the card in other transactions/retailers (I suppose I am thinking Arg0$). I got the card primarily because I do shop in MrS, and it irritates me that they have some of their stuff priced for cardholders - stuff that I would buy normally, but couldn't because I didn't have the card. With their price-matching of MrAl, and perhaps lower prices on somethings, I may actually buy more from there, but it won't become my supermarket of choice. As much as anything, when I go to our local one, the shelves are often empty 🙁
Can't think of anything MSE related to add. Need to shift a tail feather as I need to shoe-horn a quick walking errand in, and the weather looks like it is beginning to change 🙁
Ta for popping by.

Most of our nect@r points are collected through fleabay! You just add the card number to your account and it collects them automatically when you buy anything 😊 We don't use the shop much either (we do occasionally rack up some points in the cafe though 😊)4

Thanks Cheery - good to know 😁👍
Well, i did my errand. The weather was a bit shonky, and i did get wet, but not soaked, so it wasn't too bad. As much as anything, I am glad I took my gloves, the wind was cold. I guess the walk was about 1.5miles 3 miles so it counts as my exercise for the day 😁 (WOW, I just mapped the distance of my walk and I'm astonished that it comes out as 1.5 miles each way. Very pleased with that, as despite the rain showers, it wasn't an onerous walk).
I think I might whip up some soup for lunch.
Best get and do something. Might even do a proper clean of the kitchen counter tops - that'd be something off the list.

So I made pea soup for lunch. Not too sure what has happened to MrL's mushy peas, but they are just all half peas and skins - not in the least bit mushy 🙁 They didn't make a very thick soup either - despite blitzing before adding in another tin of marrowfat peas. I shoved in some l/o pasta to encourage LG to eat it, and to try to thicken it a little. Used up my tinned pea stash anyway.
When the detritus from lunch is cleared, I shall set about making some pizza dough - get flour all over my nicely cleaned worktops 🙄
The weather is weird - pavement splitting sunshine now 🙄

I think I'm right in saying that you need to 'link' Argos to your nectar card. I have got a card but since we moved to an area with no Mr S the only time I use it is when we buy fuel from a filling station that accepts the card, or on fleabay. KA3

It may be worth just checking that your Sainsbugs do take the money off to give the “N3ctar price” at the checkout, rather than issuing the difference as a voucher to use next time. Ours does the latter, which means that basically I never buy anything that is on the special price offer in there, because I don’t appreciate being told I will pay one price for the offer, when what they actually mean is “we’re going to charge you the price we have inflated but will then give you a short dated voucher which means if you want that cheaper price you have to shop here again sooner than you otherwise might”. I far prefer the way T’s do it with the CC price being the price you are charged. It sounds like it varies from S store to S store though as I know others have indeed just had the cheaper price right away. They also fibbed to me about the priced being inflated when there is a card price offer on too - in spite of the fact that I know they price match their “love it or hate it” spread to T’s and others - but when the card price applied to it the “standard” price was 30p higher than it was anywhere else!I hope your pizza is as good as ours was last night - I’m not sure whether it was the dough having been made previously and frozen, or whether that it had sat out for a good chunk of the day in it’s bag defrosting then re-proving but we ended up with gloriously thin crispy bases - really nice!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

I didn't realise that either, I shop there so rarely, it's pretty much only ever popping in for milk, and then not often. Will investigate, thank you!
We have been alternating between bright sunshine and hailstones all morning 🙄 The minute I decided to do an outdoor job, the clouds arrive, and then after waiting a while, and deciding we're set in for hail, I start cooking or some other indoor activity, and the sun comes out again! Currently monitoring the oven with glorious sunshine streaming through the windows, most vexing! 😂3
