well done to LG for having a go at a new activity.
With V in Ted it seems to be the size of the item rather than the weight of the item that determines delivery costs. When you chose the buy option it will tell you the buyer protection fee and the postage cost and give you a total purchase cost. At that stage you can back out of the deal without any hassle or even the seller being aware. It's generally cheaper to chose the collect from a drop off point option rather than the deliver to home choice. You can also make an offer for the item instead of buying at full price. I generally don't mind offers of about 10% less but really low offers make me mutter crossly to myself. If you favourite an item (tap on the heart) a seller sometimes offers you a lower price.
I hope that helps.

Yes, thank you it does Blackcats - I already know 100% more about 'V' postage than i did an hour ago. Very helpful.

When selling on there you’re just required to tick a box as to the size of item - would fit in - an envelope / shoe box / moving box.
As a buyer I’ve never paid more than £3ish for delivery to a “locker” style collection point.(not purchased for a few months and menobrain means I can’t recall how much I paid - ask me again at 3am and I’ll have remembered)

Thanks Jellytotts - you know these 'lockers', are they the sort of ones that are outside shops etc, and can they be used by any service, or, for example are the yellow ones only for the 'A' delivery service. I certainly know that we have those lockers round and about, but I've never used one and I'm not sure whether they are used by different services. But I hear the advice, that i select a drop off service, I don't select home delivery, which for me is fine. I'm sure there would be a box somewhere 'near'.
Progress update, we have now 'hard dug' all the garden, and have achieved approximately 25% 'disc harrowed', which is stage 2. It is alot of hard work, and is taking an age. We started early again, but the heat is building. I'm glad that DH could see the change though. The flies were horrible today - it was too still and they were out in force.
I've got to go to the library today to print off our attraction tickets, and a form for school. I'll go to the little library and may call into FF to see if they have anything bargainacious.
I'm not sure what we'll eat today. I don't think it will be as warm as yesterday, but still hot.

I've only sold a few times on V, but I think the seller can choose what postage options to offer, and then the buyer picks from them.
The first time I did it, I hadn't realised, and the seller chose something that required me to post using lockers inside a shop which was only open til 5pm, and which rarely had any free lockers for use 🙄 bit of a menace, I had to wait to use another version nearer work. Then I realised I could limit options, so I can use somewhere that's open til 11pm.
But that might not be a problem for people who don't live quite so rurally.
So basically, different postage options will be available depending on what the seller is happy with, but there should be a range to pick from 😊

Different locks do different things but you’ll be able to pick exactly which one suits you best, or delivery to a local parcel shop (most corner shop style places have this function now) and then you get a notification of when the parcel is there ready to collect. If it’s a locker you’ll get a code to scan into the machine, if it’s a shop then just ask at the counter and they’ll want to see some ID

Apologies, may i just clarify, can you see (and understand, from my newbie perspective), what postal options are available before you agree to buy/put in an offer. And will it be obvious what type of locker/corner shop option is 'near' to me? Sorry to be so dim. I mean, if you said, the P0st 0ffice counter network, I would be able to say, I have 3 counters 'near/nearish and a short car drive away from me' for starters. Will it specify 'XYZ locker stop' - and then I have to g00gle where the nearest 'XYZ locker stop' is to me/my place of work/near a chums house etc etc.
Really sorry to be so dim, I haven't used this purchase method before.

Yes. You can see the options available to you. I either use inpost as lockers near me or a local shop which receives the Evri parcels.

when you tap on buy now, the next screen asks you to chose between ship to home or to a pick up point. The nearest pick up point for the delivery company is usually shown. This is also the screen where the total purchase cost is shown. You can just exit backwards from the page before paying if you decide against buying it.
The lockers are easy to use and LG might enjoy scanning the bar code (I put a photo of it on my phone) and then watching to see which locker pings open to reveal their parcel.

beanie & Blackcats - that is super helpful - thank you both.
Blackcats (or anyone), the explanation of the lockers has thrown up another question for me - do you have to have a registered account with 'V' to make purchases (over being a 'guest'). Blackcats - your point about 'nearest locker' being identified made me think the computer needs to know 'where you are'. I don't have a problem with that - because you can backtrack - it's just another thing "I admit I don't know" iyswim.
