They don't seem to call them inset days anymore either. I think the idea is to make new parents feel bad so they keep their mouths shut.

I'm not sure I realised Baker days are no longer a thing.
Going to be dreaming of taking a motorbike to Uluru now... not sure if that's before of after I cross the continent on the Ghan.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)
The sun's been out and I think I’m solar powered (Onebrokelady)

Good Morning MFW'rs
Lovely to hear all about your 'virtual travels' on here 😁
Dreich day with us. I have got a wash on, but it's only a small load of 'light' things that will - most likely - have to go in front of the de-humidifier, and we'll have to cross our fingers and hope for the best. They are not made from materials that would respond well to a tumble drier, but I need to have the uniform up and running, ready for tomorrow, or whenever it is next needed. I'm afraid I do get annoyed that uniform is allowed to get mucky, and then when you provide waterproof outwear, that is not enforced to be worn, and the kids don't wear it because it is 'too warm' 🙄
Anyhoo, onwards and upwards.
We had the curry last night with lentil dhal and rice. DH managed to eat what he was given. There was a portion of dhal and a portion of curry put away in the freezer for another day.
DH eventually got hold of the antibiotics, but unfortunately - as you know - they never kick in straight away anyway, and he was in agony all night 🙁 But he did get to sleep, as I heard him snoring! Hopefully as he gets into the rhythm of taking the medicine, it will begin to take effect.
Tea will have to be something soft and manageable to eat. At the moment, soup is looking like a contender.
Can't think of owt else MSE or spiffy, so will push orf.

Poor DH! We have a lot of dental issues in our house so I do feel his pain 😕 Hopefully the antibiotics will kick in soon xx3

Allowing for the weather, and DH's poorly tooth, soup sounds like a perfect choice for tea Greying!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Thanks Cheery & EH.
DH has come home from work 🙁 Thankfully, he was almost sent home - it was kinda by mutual agreement - the supervisor could see that he was in pain (his face is still very, very swollen) and sometimes you're better off not being somewhere, aren't you.
EH soup is definitely on the cards now. We've had better weather than was forecast, but have had heavy rain for the last hour or so. I was very, very lucky to get about 3 hrs of line-drying time in this morning. I consulted the 'rain radar' and it gave the window, so i chanced it. It did start raining a bit before it was forecast to, but I was lucky, spotted it, and by the time I got the clothes in, they were touch dry with just a few rain drops on each item, which is far more than I hoped for this morning. I should imagine that if it were needed, the one item of school uniform will be ready for tomorrow (hopefully it won't be needed, but you know if I hadn't washed it, it would be! 🤣).
I have signed LG up for one of the school trips coming up. I don't agree with it, it doesn't represent good VFM, and is a very poor 'off the shelf' package, BUT it is "supposed" to be an educational trip, tied to the curriculum, and I wouldn't want school funds 'wasted' on LG if we just refused to pay. I know there are parents that can pay for trips but refuse to, and let others pick up the slack - but that is not me. LG also gets bullied enough for various things, without adding 'you're poor' into the mix. We had enough of that nonsense at the tail end of last term, I don't want to give the obnoxious bully more grist to their mill.
