It's difficult.  As there's just me I can manage, I'm also lucky enough to have a conservatory and the airer in their is usually sufficient so long a I stagger bedding and clothes.  I also WFH mainly so can hang out or bring in whilst the kettle boils.   I have towels out today and they are drying, just popped out to see.

But with several people in one house hold and uniforms it's much harder
  • I agree elsien, but these trousers were a bit toooooooooo long 🤣LG did very kindly say they 'thought' they could grow into them 🤣

Well, if anyone needs me, I shall be indoors/outdoors/indoors/outdoors....... blessed weather.  Mizzle showers are so frustrating - I don't suppose it lasted more than 15 minutes, but it was so wetting! Most of the washing is back out again now.  It is supposed to stay dry and breezy for pretty much the 'useful' part of the afternoon.  If it does, I may be able to put the 'dry' clothes on an airer overnight and call the laundry done.

The one lot of 'smalls' is more or less dry, I need to put the other lot on just now, so that I can have the airers free later.  I am trying not to wince at the thought of the electric cost, but then, if I had to go to the launderette, I would be shovelling £1 coins in the slot, so either way there is a cost.  If the laundry gets done today, then it will have been worth the effort.  I am still counting my blessings.

I suspect the cost of running the dehumidifier will be lower than using the laundrette. Plus you are at home and able to get on with other stuff.

Older type tumble driers did get really hot but the newer heat pump driers don’t and are much cheaper to run
I can’t stand wet washing hanging around

Thanks for the explanation GP!  I do wonder about using the launderette for drying sometimes, but then again being home doing other things always seems to win out!

I'm happy to report that Sunday's laundry load is finally dry!  OH is terrible at keeping on track with removing and folding the dry stuff to let the other things finish with better airflow! So it was still cluttering the back hall this morning!

Today ended up being an unplanned WFH day, so I started the day with coffee and rotating laundry, spent the break with coffee and folding laundry and then finished folding while mid-day soup was warming!  I'm thankful that my lunch meeting was cancelled late yesterday as it meant there was nothing pressing to do in the office today! I try to avoid travelling when feeling sub-par and this morning was a rough one so working from home was the only option!

Mr L boxes have been very thin on the ground lately, but I did get one a couple of weeks ago. It was the last one so I thought it would be rubbish, but it was ok. Makes me wonder if the ones already taken were wonderful! I used up 2 pink grapefruit by making 4 jars of marmalade (Mr A used to sell lovely pink grapefruit marmalade at one time as well as other unusual varieties, but they suddenly vanished from the shelves). I also turned a red cabbage into Delia's braised red cabbage & apple. Some to use & some to freeze. It always tastes better after freezing.

GP- you asked which day Mr L changed their offers - I know the offers for app holders change every Thursday morning, not sure about general offers.

Oh yes definitely get the service organised Greying - they will be busy from now as people turn heating on and discover problems no doubt. Ours is being done next week - although I suspect that once again Jamie will opt for doing everything he possibly can without turning it off fully as he is very much of the view that with an older boiler, turning it right off is where problems can arise!

Ours drops pressure from time to time as well - I usually have to tweak it up a couple of times during the year but only by a fraction.

Thanks for the reminder - I've just chased my heating guy. He's great at emergencies but last time he was here he was supposed to get back to me with a date for the service. I have pressurised hot water too, so he has to service the tank as well as the oil boiler.
