The school episode sounds grim, I hope the school take it on themselves to make some sort of disciplinary move. Perhaps an email from several affected families is in order? Photos? Car valeting or dry cleaning bills?
Re the bin: if there are avid gardeners, a shared bin might be just what someone needs. Sometimes our is really full, sometimes it's only got a bit in there - we've been in the position of sharing bin space with a neighbour when one of us needed more capacity. So if there is someone who might be willing to share costs with you rather than pay double for two bins, you might be able to do them a favour.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. Hi, was just popping in to say have you had a look on vint@d for second hand activity clothes? Postage costs obviously apply but sometimes you can get a few items from one seller and prices are cheaper than my local charity shops 🙂MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁4

Good Morning MFW'rs
Cherryfudge - I am somewhat ashamed to say that I haven't really got to know the (slightly further away) neighbours to find out about bin sharing. The way school is going, I really am beginning to wish we'd never moved to this location if I'm honest 😢 Having said that, it wouldn't have been much better where we used to live - the plethora of rental houses meant green waste was very hit and miss, depending on whether the tenants owned a mower or whatever.
newgirly - v1nted is an option I hadn't thought of for outdoor gear, I must admit. However, LG is an odd fit for clothes, and I really need an option whereby we can try before we buy, or they can be easily returned. But thank you for the suggestion, because the type of outdoor clothing IS requested by schools frequently, and you do see 'barely worn kit' in chazzers/car boots/online sellers as a result.
Grrr, because we were rushing out of the door last night to activity, I threw a wash on with LG's mud splattered clothes, with the intention of putting the de-humidifier on when we got back. I did, and it seemed to have worked, but I have just checked the clothes this morning, and the wash hasn't got all the mud out. GRRRRR. I'm going to have to put them through again, and have the de-humidifier on again.
Right, I must not sabotage the day.
But I am just so cross at the moment.
I'm away to pack snap and calm down.

Right, I haven't calmed down any 🤣 But there is a possibility that the gods of thrift are smiling upon me.
I went into Greying Town to;
move some cash about - check
see how big/small/worthwhile/useless a display was - check (it was OK)
And to scour a few charity shops to see if I could find any all weather gear for LG - Check, check check!
I came across a pair of over/waterproof trousers, for pre-teens, B3rghaus brand, unworn, £4 😱 You can bet that I bought them (I can return them if they are too large). They have zipped openings for putting on over boots and adjustable ankles as well as an elasticated waist. Oh, fingers crossed they fit, because I'm not going to get better, am I? Heck, if they don't fit LG I may well see if I can tone up and fit into them myself!

Unfortunately, the over trousers are too big 🙁
I am going to draw a line under the school business. I have just had the most bizarre conversation with a member of staff. My head is officially fried.

RT - I know, but honestly - even if I could tell you - you wouldn't believe someone had actually said it out loud.
Cherryfudge - you do have a point, especially as they are branded, and literally not worn. And there will be a future need, either in things that we do as a family, or Yr6 residential etc. I'm sure I wouldn't be as lucky again, to get new/branded - especially in a smaller size.

We have a charity shop near here that only sells sportswear and kit (walking boots, coats, running pants etc, I think they may even have skis!) Happy to pop in one day if you know what you need and what size. It's quite a local charity so I don't think they have one elsewhere but it's a great idea!4
