I have checked and the amounts are correct.
We used to have a really simple payslip but now it is 4 pages long.
I will wait a couple of months for it to correct as suggested.
I think you all for your time on this matter.

You are now in the 20% tax band so if your earnings stay the same so will your tax (give or take 20p)collinsca said:I have checked and the amounts are correct.

Op, don't forget your take home pay will increase slightly from the end of January due to the reduction in National Insurance.1

Amazed this has now run to page 5 and yet to be resolved. And all for a £30 tax increase for someone earning over £49k 😱 Would have been quicker to have set up a Go-funding page for OP0

The problem has been resolved and most who took part have been ( I assume) happy to do so and have been here quite some time. I believe that just because you earn a certain amount you still have the right to understand how your tax NI etc is calculated and should not be fobbed off by payroll departments saying rubbish like "told by Payroll that i have a "cumulative tax code" and therefore fluctuations are normal." however many pages it takes.baser999 said:Amazed this has now run to page 5 and yet to be resolved. Indeed. Reassurance regarding future net pay, not just December, also plays a part.chrisbur said:

I agree. It isn't the amount that is the problem with these matters, it is knowing why that is important. Many are happy to criticise if people DON'T ask the question.

Thanks again for the generally very helpful messages on this thread.
It has helped me to understand what is going on now and for the future.
Facetious posts are unnecessary and unwelcomed. Someone may earn a good wage, but you don't know their situation- so maybe some should think before they make such comments in the future.
