Divine…and easy LATTL.
Been busy today and did 30 lengths of the pool but i am a slow swimmer so think i can post that. The rest of the day i watched TV and knitted. I watched Rear Window…never seen it before.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016
Thank you Honey Bear7 -
^^ If it's a standard length pool (25m) just another 2 lengths would have meant you'd swum half a mile! 30 lengths is good going whatever it means!Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!

@Valli - I'm with @Katiehound, 30 lengths is amazing!! 🙌
I'm finally starting to feel quite a bit better - hopefully by tomorrow it will be business as usual 🤞 I'm going to have a very quiet day today to allow myself to fully recuperate though - no point in trying to start up again before my body is totally ready, I have a history of doing too much too soon and being put back on my behind as a result!! 🤦♀️ Yesterday I stripped the bed and put the sheets on to wash, put some packages away, rinsed the sprouts, fed the sourdough starter and then felt dreadful and exhausted for the rest of the day - lessons have been learnt! 🙄😂
I've got lots of plans for when I have fully recovered this week - I really need to get the garden beds weeded; dh did some this weekend so it's not as bad as it was but I really want to get the garden into 'maintenance' mode! We've got several days of decent weather predicted so that will be my main mission this week. I also want to start my daily routines again - since my fall everything has become a bit hit and miss but I feel that I'm pretty much in the position to get back to some sort of normality now, so tomorrow I'm going to start reintroducing stuff and I'm really looking forward to it! 🥳 It has felt a bit like my life has been on hold for the past 6 weeks! 🙄
I'm going to try and make a meal plan today - it's a bit tricky as the thought of food makes me a bit queasy at the moment but I need to get it done. I have a red cabbage, some cauliflower and some tempeh in the fridge so I'll probably do some harissa roasted cauliflower, sezchuan tempeh and stir fried red cabbage in teriyaki sauce with that then use the leftovers in a ramen with miso broth and broccoli sprouts the following day. I also have a purple sweet potato in the cupboard so will do that with black beans, hommous and mixed veg. That's 3 days done already!! 😉😂
Anyway, time to get a chamomile tea and sit in the garden for a bit - have a fab slow day!! 😁DNF: £708.92/£1000

Morning 😁
Had a nice quiet day yesterday, I did a little bit of cleaning (whizzed the vacuum around the ground floor), one load of laundry (which I line dried 🙌) and cooked dinner (which was lovely!) but did very little else! Just what I needed and I feel pretty much back to normal today 🥳
So, food stuff - quite a lot to report so get yourself a cuppa!! 😁😂
We had harissa roasted cauliflower, mixed grains, butter beans cooked in ground coriander and 'chicken' stock, green beans, roasted red cabbage and apple, broccoli sprouts and a coriander, garlic and red wine vinegar dressing for dinner and other than the cauliflower which dh polished off we have enough leftovers for me to have with a salad for lunch.
I'm feeling very pleased with myself at the moment as my sourdough starter looks like it may be successful this time around 🤞 I still have a way to go with it but it's definitely looking promising!! I've found the ideal bread recipe to use it with if it works - dh isn't as keen on it as its a full rye loaf but there should be enough of the starter to make a loaf of wholemeal or white for him too so he's not complaining! 😂 who would have thought I'd ever get excited about bread!! 🤔😂
Yesterday I 'harvested' my first load of broccoli sprouts - I started them off on Thursday (after soaking them overnight on Wednesday) and they are absolutely lovely!! I'd invested in some seeds recently (organic) and was a bit wobbly about the initial outlay at £20 for a kilo...however, I grew a large jar full from only 2 tbs of seeds! I love them and it will save me a fortune in the long run - the boxes I used to buy from the health food shop cost around £2.40 each - my jar has yielded at least 2 boxes worth for 2% of my seeds so a cost of 40p instead of the £4.80 I would have paid!! 😁🙌 They are such a mega healthy food too so it's a win-win all round! 🥳 I've got a jar of mixed broccoli and alfalfa sprouts to harvest today too so I won't need to start anymore off until the weekend 😁
Today I'm making the sezchuan tempeh, stir fried red cabbage in teriyaki sauce, broad beans, broccoli sprouts and mixed grains with barberries. I'll make the sezchuan sauce this morning while it's still cool!
My other plans today are to get out in the garden and get some weeding done! I've decided that I'm going to leave the walking until tomorrow- I need to prioritise the garden stuff today and think that a walk on top of that today will be too much for me at the moment so no point in pushing it! I'll get a bit more cleaning done between 11-2 when I come in from the sun.
Dh will be watching footie tonight again so I've decided that I will take the opportunity to have a 'spa day' evening - a long shower and exfoliate, then whack on a face mask and hair treatment, moisturise, do a long yoga nidra practice while everything does it's thing then an early night 😁
It sounds like a perfect slow day ahead for me! 😍😁

^ I did a Yoga Nidra meditation before bed the other day and I had forgotten how relaxing it is.
I need to do that more often.
I had a very fast-paced weekend as we saw Taylor Swift on Sunday night in London. It was amazing and I don't know where she finds the energy as the show was almost 3 and a half hours and then I read that she partied intil 4 am in the morning afterwards!
I was tired just from being there watching her so I watched the football and then had a lovely early night last night.
It is very warm again today and there isn't a cloud in the sky. I think I need to get the fan out for tonight as our bedroom gets so airless at night as we have the door closed to keep my dog in and keep the windows closed to block out the street noise.
I am about to wash this hair treatment off in the shower and then I will read one of my library books on and off until the football comes on later.4 -
^^^ Just a thought , is there some way that you could block the doorway with something so that dog stays in and hot air goes out? I'm thinking something like a clothes airer either upright or sideways as an example.Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!

^ That is exactly what I said to my husband this morning. I thought the clothes airer sideways, but the doorway/landing is too narrow when I tried it. I might fold down my other clothes airer and see if that one fits.2025 GOALS

or even the clothes airer upright? My dog wouldn't past something like that! it might make A noise & frighten him!
Airer at an angle? does it have to really fill the space?Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!

@Wednesday2000 - it may be worth having a look on a 'free' site to see if anyone is getting rid of a baby gate - I used to use them when I had puppies that were too little to get up and down stairs alone without me having a nervous breakdown!! 😳😂DNF: £708.92/£1000
