  • I did think again about joining the wild swimming group, but then I read about a local man saying that he swims in this area and how polluted by sewage the sea is! It seems like every time I consider it something puts me off.

My husband got a refund for his train ticket as he hasn't been using it for months as he is off sick. That was a nice surprise to get in our bank account, over £1200 they owed us. :) I had almost forgotten about it. I was also thinking about trying cryotherapy. I was just looking at how much it costs locally. I did a search on here just now and someone said she got an unpleasant reaction to it! Maybe that is a bad sign.

I am going to go for a walk today in the park as I need to get some steps in as I haven't hit 10,000 a day this week. I should use my treadmill and finish my current book too. I am cooking us a meal later.

  • @Wednesday2000 the thought of swimming in sewage is hideous. The water companies really should not be allowed to get away with it. Last time I went to Roker Beach, my daughter didn't want us to swim as she said the sewage report was bad. I agreed grumpily as I couldn't see anything and thought she was over reacting. However, two days later there was a massive ecoli outbreak that was sea related
    So awful

Thank you @Florafauna, your lido sounds perfect and 15 to 20 minutes is very good going in winter!

Effluent is a problem down here too, despite the water company being able to charge more for managing counties with a lot of coastline. My DC come across it regularly when doing water sports, not necessarily after high rainfall either. They have sometimes had to abandon their activity because it was just too disgusting and dangerous. This area is very dependent on tourism so I don’t know what will happen if the water companies don’t clean up their act.

Yesterday was a slow day of reading, dog walking and home cooking. We decided not to do cards and gifts as spending the day together was enough.
I’m down  in Thanet, terrible water company here. 🤬
I want  to go to that lido.....
