@Brie - that's so disappointing that your pumpkin pie wasn't what you'd hoped ๐ hopefully your next one will hit the mark! ๐๐ย
@amber03 - that's a shame about your biscuits ๐ย
The last couple of days have been lovely - I've eaten far too much (all very healthy but massive quantities! ๐ณ๐คฆโโ๏ธ) and can't face food today! ๐ hopefully I'll want something later but there's no way I can force a smoothie down at the moment!ย
Tuesday I did two asana practices, two yoga nidra practices and three meditation practices along with a 'gym' session, a 'spa' shower and a couple of power naps! It was a really nice day ๐ย
Yesterday I was pretty tired - I don't sleep much when dh is away so I decided to just relax and try to nap after sorting bits in the house in the morning then picked up my grandbaby and had a lovely afternoon/evening with him ๐ฅฐย
Today I'm having a quiet one again - I've got a busy weekend ahead so making the most of the peace before dh arrives home tonight!ย
Have a fab slow day! ๐๐'Happiness is not a destination but the journey you walk every day'

I had another quiet one yesterday - lots of reading done and meditation music listened to ๐ย
Today we are having 3 radiators replaced so no heating available for quite a while - perhaps I should have checked the weather forecast before making arrangements! ๐๐คฆโโ๏ธ๐ Thankfully I have a heating fan for the front room (and could do an open fire if necessary) so it's not too bad ๐
While that is being done, I'm planning on making some tomato chutney with the last of our tomatoes and finishing off the damson 'cheese' I made a while ago - it didn't set as well as I would have liked so I've got some pectin to firm it up a bit. It's also in a multitude of different small jars in the fridge so I'll put it into one large one and free up some space ๐ย
Tonight I'm planning on making some mediterranean tarts with roasted red onions and new potatoes for dinner - even if the rest of the house is chilly, the kitchen will be warm ๐ย

My day has mostly been about me sitting in a pub with an old work colleague sharing our woes with a large glass of wine each and some cheesy chips to share.ย Very therapeutic!!!Iโm a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards.ย If you need any help on these boards, do let me know. That is what I miss by living in Southern California - being able to go to a pub, or a cafe, or even a garden centre that has a cafe. I don't feel that fast-food places are good for meeting friends as they are very loud, even when they don't have the music on. And nothing like National Trust properties to visit, go for a walk, and try the cafes. Even loved going to the cathedral cafes every chance I got. We don't have any open-air type museums either.ย5

Morning everyone, Iโm hoping that everyone is doing okay.
As a family we have had a few difficult days which has left me feeling exhausted so Iโm having a lazy weekend and anything that needs doing can wait until tomorrow apart from the ironing which is bothering me just looking at it so Iโll do it when Iโm a bit more with it. XTrying to change my life and will:money:3 -
@Brie - the mediterranean tarts are made with shop-bought puff pastry: I put red pepper tapanade (either belazu if I'm pushed for time or I make my own with whizzed up roasted red peppers, onions, garlic, green olives and basil) on the pastry (leaving a gap around the edges) then top with sliced roasted red peppers (the jars are fine if you don't have time to roasted your own), quartered tomatoes (or halved baby ones), sliced green olives and a few basil leaves. Bake in the oven until the edges of the pastry is puffed up and golden brown. The roasted red onions are made by slicing the onions horizontally into rounds around 1/2 inch thick then make a coating by mixing olive oil, wholegrain mustard and maple syrup. Dollop a good helping of the coating onto the cut side of the onion and spred it around then cook in a single layer in the oven ๐ Your catch up with your old work colleague sounds lovely!ย
@weenancyinAmerica - it's a shame that you don't have a nice place to meet up with friends ๐ it's funny how we take things for granted - it would never have occurred to me that there wouldn't be cafรฉs or bars in your area ๐คฆโโ๏ธ I hate loud environments - as I'm getting older I find it really difficult to have or follow a conversation in a loud place ๐คฆโโ๏ธย
@Teaparty_mum - I'm sorry to hear you've had a rough couple of days, hopefully your weekend of resting will help things and you'll feel better soon ๐คย
Yesterday didn't work out as plannedย - son in law finished the radiators earlier than expected so didn't stay for dinner. We ended up doing a fridge raid instead for dinner so I'll make the tarts tonight.ย We had steamed beetroot, cannellini beans, new potatoes with horseradish sauce and a salad of rocket, black grapes, strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, papaya and hommous drizzled with my new blood orange balsamic vinegar - the vinegar is spectacular and I could quite easily drink the bottle!! ๐ Piccie below ๐ย
Today I have cleaned the house - the chaos from yesterday's work was extensive and was driving me nuts ๐ณ I really can't cope with a dirty house so am very pleased to have it back to normal!!ย
This afternoon I'm doing very little- dh is watching football so I'm just going to read and relax - I'm glad we had the extra hour today ๐ย
Tomorrow I'm out with my daughter in law with my grandbabies- we don't spend a lot of time with all three of them so I'm really looking forward to that, just hope the weather isn't atrocious!! ๐คย
Have a fab slow day! ๐๐

pancake breakfast - so I'm feeling a bit (a lot) bloated.ย And dried out - that's due to the double whammy of streaky bacon and maple syrup.ย So drinking a half pint of water every time I go past the kitchen.ย
I do believe him indoors is cooking dinner tonight but I'll be doing a bit of veg tidying - I've got a couple of potatoes that I thought would be baked but they've been sitting for a week so I'll likely chop them up and drop them in the freezer for frying up with some onions etc to have for dinner one night.ย ยIโm a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards.ย If you need any help on these boards, do let me know. Ohย
where did you get the blood orange balsamic from ?ย1 -
@Brie - I've just finished my dinner and feel as stuffed as you did!! ๐ณ๐ it was lush though so worth it ๐ย
@Debsnewbudget - it's by drury and alldis ๐ I have their fig and date one too, they're absolutely gorgeous ๐ย
Dinner was purple sweet potatoes, roasted red onion steaks, mediterranean tarts and my usual salad - I used shortcrust pastry as opposed to puff as that's what I had in the freezer ๐ย

@leftatthelights Thank you.
I must say today hasnโt been as bad.. spent the morning straightening the house as I โfeltโ like I just couldnโt think clearly and I always find if the house is straight my head is straight..
Once the house was in order I just spent the afternoon doing cross stitch. Wonโt be long until I head to bed as DS is working 6am-2pm so Iโll be up early to take him as there are no buses that run that early.ยI hope everyone had a good dayยTrying to change my life and will:money:0
