@London_1 - sounds like a lovely day, I hope the dogs have recovered 🤞
So, happy new year to you all!! 😁🥳
My day was slightly fraught yesterday due to an incident with an badly behaved dog walker but other than that I had a peaceful one 🙄🤦♀️😂
I started my new vegan storecupboard challenge thread, got my inventories posted and I have a hard copy here at home so that I can monitor my stock and actually do the challenge properly this year!! 😂 I've earmarked the things I've had for a long time as the things to tackle early and I am looking forward to making some random stuff - I also want to get the downstairs freezer defrosted in the next month or two so the stuff in there is a high priority 😁
Today I have no major plans - I'm going to do my morning yogic practices, a bit of cleaning, some cooking and perhaps a bit of reading later. Dh will be watching footie at some point (not sure what times they're on today) so I may have an epsom salt bath then a yoga nidra practice while he does 🤔
Tomorrow I'm going to be processing the horse chestnuts I foraged a while back to use for laundry and I may start off some more fire bricks too - it may take a while for them to dry but it's worth utilising the greenhouse space before I need it again in the spring. I may go for a beach walk tomorrow - I haven't been there for a couple of weeks and now the holidays are over it should be back to its deserted normality 😍
Chamomile tea time! Have a fab slow day 😁🐌

Its nice to see the holiday makers when they arrive bringing much needed cash to the local economy, but its also nice when life gets back to normal again
I too enjoy the walks on my local Appley Beach and the delicious coffee or hot chocolate treat in the cafe there.
Just sitting watching the cruise ships going out to sea on a sunny day like today is lovely I just have to peg out some washing then I'll be off myself for a walk through the park and down to the beach

I was going to go and look around a local Xmas market at a church today, but I feel too tired as I had my therapist yesterday followed by a very intense physio session. I just ran a magnesium salt bath and will relax at home instead.

I am reading a book called How Your Mind Can Heal Your Body at the moment. I think I have read it before, but this is the updated version with added parts. There is a section on visualisation so I am going to start meditating and visualising at home as I just bought a yoga mat a few weeks ago. I go to a meditation group class but I thought I should carry it on at home too. At my reiki class the other day the group leaders were playing a nice piece of music that I recognised from when I did reiki level 1 and I wanted to ask them what it was as it would be nice to have that playing in the background when I meditate.
I am calling my friend from uni who lives abroad this afternoon which should be nice to catch up. I need to sort out my passport and go and visit her next year.
It is very warm again today, I don't like cold weather, but this is starting to feel very strange to be so warm in November!3 -
@London_1 - thankfully our holiday-makers are generally either further up or down the coast! One of the reasons we bought our house here was the fact that we have no facilities to entice tourists to the immediate vicinity 😉 Our 'peak season' is very quiet in comparison to most of the rest of the coastline so our off peak means almost deserted beaches other than resident dog walkers which is perfect for me! 😍
@Wednesday2000 - I hope you had a relaxing day and have recovered from your physio! I do all my yogic practices at home - I couldn't do a group thing personally - but it must be a nice way to meet people who are on the same page! 😁 I use boho beautiful and kristyn rose yoga on you tube for meditation practices (only the woman on boho beautiful unfortunately as I just can't get on with his voice 🤦♀️) and have found them useful - if you find any that you paticularly like, do let me know as I'm always happy to try out new people 😉
So, today has been a really lazy one - I just couldn't sleep last night 🤦♀️ I was far too hot, couldn't get comfy etc so spent most of the night downstairs watching how the universe works 🙄😂 thankfully I absolutely love the programme but I would rather have slept! 😉 I've done my asana practice and a meditation but other than writing a menu plan for next week that's the sum total of my day!! 😳
I'm going to just go with the flow though, there's no point in trying to work against my brain, I will have a lazy day, do an evening asana and meditation practice, have a shower, do a yoga nidra practice and then hopefully get some sleep 🤞
Have a fab slow day! 😁🐌'Happiness is not a destination but the journey you walk every day'

Had a banging headache yesterday so ended up staying in bed and trying to prevent it turning into a migraine 😔🤦♀️ thankfully, I feel a lot better today - still a bit fuzzy but functional! 🙌
I'm going to do some cooking and a bit of cleaning today - I'll do the cooking first just in case I get wiped out by it; we need to eat and the house isn't dreadful so if I need to give it a miss today, it's not the end of the world! 😉
It was a beautiful sunrise this morning 😍 my bedroom faces east so I get to lay in bed and watch them regularly 😁 my kitchen faces west so I sit at the table and watch those through the patio doors - it's such a wonderful position to be in and I'm always immensely grateful that I have that privilege 🥰
Yesterday it rained heavily for much of the day and I noticed this morning that lots of the trees in my garden and around me have shed a lot of their leaves as a result - it looks like someone has come along and laid an orange and yellow carpet in some places!! 😁😂 I love this part of the year - the geese are still migrating so I am seeing and hearing those most days, the birds and deer are more prolific in the garden (they know where they can always get a meal!! 😂) and the light is finding the gaps in the trees where the leaves have departed - it's very beautiful 😍

I noticed that too yesterday. I went to have a reiki session and then I went to pick up my library book and I walked down a side road I haven't walked down before and the pavements were absolutely covered in leaves! There were people sweeping their driveways and pushing the leaves off their cars.leftatthetrafficlights said:Yesterday it rained heavily for much of the day and I noticed this morning that lots of the trees in my garden and around me have shed a lot of their leaves as a result - it looks like someone has come along and laid an orange and yellow carpet in some places!! 😁😂
I am going out to London for my husband's birthday today and having pizza and going to an event tonight. It probably won't be a particularly slow day for me.

The gardener bailed on us again on Friday. Texted she was unwell. Seems like every time she's scheduled something happens at the last minute and we need to sort out a different date/time. I know that things change and being a woman with children she is more likely to need to not work if something happens with them. I want to support a woman who is essentially working in a male dominated trade but she is making it very difficult.
She texted early yesterday to say that she could come Wed at noon. I wasn't sure of our plans so didn't get back to her til this morning and she has yet to respond to say if she can actually make it or not. Makes it difficult to plan things - I've got things I'd like to put in the garden but can't do easily myself so will need her help. But I can't buy stuff and then have it sitting about for weeks in a pot. I've tried that in the past and wasted a lot of money.
Grumble over.....OH has mostly sorted out the problem with the alarm on his vehicle which is allowing him to be a bit less stressed ahead of our road trip to Germany next month. I've reassured him that the MOT, last month, wouldn't have been possible without having decent brakes so they don't need to be dealt with right now. They can wait until next year before we go to Ireland in March.
And I've shocked myself by getting ahead of schedule and got him some C-day presents and me some special chocolates so I can just drift through to the new year without too many concerns. No doubt I'll spot some nice things to buy him when we're away.....I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. @Wednesday2000 - I hope your husband had a lovely birthday and you had a fab day out in London 😁🥳
@Brie - I think you've been more than patient with your gardener! I'm afraid that if it were me I'd be letting her go - being constantly unreliable is unacceptable as a tradesperson regardless of gender/parental responsibilities. Being tolerant is one thing, having that tolerance exploited is another! 😠 I'm glad the car is sorted and we'll done for sorting pressies already!! 😁
I didn't get round to cleaning yesterday- I spent quite a bit of time cooking though! I put one of my playlists on and sang my head off throughout - enjoyed it immensely!! 😁
I made last night's dinner (description below); tonight's dinner of dark speckled lentil lasagne with a cashew cream 'cheese' sauce and I roasted the harissa pumpkin too while the lasagne was cooking 😁 By the time I'd made it all and cleaned the kitchen, I decided that I'd rather do the rest of the cleaning today 😉
Dinner was the pumpkin, black bean, pineapple and smoked tofu chilli; mixed grains (oat groats, rye berries, barley groats, short grain brown rice) barberries, sunflower seeds and hemp seeds; rocket, strawberries, black grapes, pomegranate and broccoli sprouts with blood orange balsamic. I dolloped a bit of Greek style 'yoghurt' on the side to counter the heat 😋

I took my grandbaby to school today, popped to the shops and then came home and cleaned the house. I feel a lot better for getting it done! 😁
This afternoon, I'm planning on just relaxing - I'm not sleeping well at the moment (no idea why🤦♀️) so I'm hoping to have a little snooze at some point...
Dinner yesterday was dark speckled lentil lasagne with a cashew cream 'cheese' sauce which was lovely 😋 Tonight we'll have leftovers - we still have some chilli and lasagne left so I'm not sure which one we'll have - perhaps a combo! 😁
Tomorrow I'm having a 'spa' day - I'm away this weekend so need some down time to prepare 😂

It's a soggy one today!! 😳🤦♀️
I've been up since 3.30am - still not mastering this sleep malarkey at the moment but it has been lovely just listening to the rain for hours 🥰 the forecast suggests that tomorrow will be better so I'm hoping that I won't need a snorkel and flippers for my weekend away🤞😂
As I'm having a 'spa' day today, I decided to treat myself so I've just ordered a new book that will come on Monday called The Way of the Bodhisattva. I recently read The Art of War by Sun-Tzu and found it really interesting so decided that I would like to read more of these type of 'philosophy' books; I like to challenge my thinking and they give a very different perspective which is fascinating to me. I did look for it on the library website but had no joy plus I think it will be something I want to read on numerous occasions so it made sense to buy it 😉
I've had a lovely morning just writing, relaxing and listening to meditation music - this afternoon I'm going to have a 'spa' shower and chill out with one of my unread fiction books; I was going to make sushi etc later but we still have chilli left (we finished the lasagne last night) so we'll eat that instead and then I can have an uninterrupted afternoon 😁
