I love this thread @Brie and @leftatthetrafficlights reading about your daily routines is very relaxing. I aspire to a slow life but need to sort myself out and ditch the f/t job first. It leaves me tired all the time all I just want to do is sleep when I've finished work.
Managed to make a pot of German Potaoe soup for our supper with half a pot left over for Thursday's tea. Now sat ralaxing in front of the fire x

I'm glad you're enjoying the thread @TizerCat! 😁 it's harder living slow when you have a full time job so it's important to try to be in the moment whenever you can 😉
I've had a busy day today - I've made dinner, done my exercise routine, cleaned out the fireplace, cleaned the house, sorted the compost, fed the birds, stripped and washed the bedding and the towels are currently in the wash.
It's currently snowing here!! 🌨😁🙌 it's gorgeous 😍 I'm sitting in the living room and watching through the window and I have a chamomile tea on the go - it's so beautiful but I'm glad that I don't have to drive or go out 😉
I'm going to spend the rest of the afternoon watching old movies and relaxing, I may do a bit of reading too 😁

I've tried to make banana muffins 2 days in a row. The bananas are thawed and in the fridge. So is the almost past the BBF day frozen and then thawed milk. I've now bought the oatmeal that's required but forgot the sugar. So hopefully everything will still be useable tomorrow. (or it will be really manky and I'll throw it all together anyways and try not to kill anyone)I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. @Brie - I hope the muffins turn out okay! 😁
I'm having a lazy day today. I've been to the shop to get a few bits I need - mushrooms for bolognese as we've got my grandbaby after school tomorrow for the weekend and a few freezer bits - and my car needed defrosting even though it was past 10am!! 😳
I also bought some flowers for the hallway which I buy regularly (chrysanthemums or carnations normally as they have a very long life 😉) - I classify these as an essential purchase as they are a source of joy every time I see them.
I'm making a banana blossom chilli for dinner tonight - I've got grains in the fridge so I'll have those and a salad with it.
Dinner last night was cabbage, red beans and rice. It's one of my favourites - dirt cheap, tastes so much better than the sum of it's parts and done within 30 mins! 🙌😁
Hot drink and a movie time I think...have a fab slow day! 🐌😁

@leftatthetrafficlights
not my best muffins! And I've always said I make the best banana oatmeal muffins in the world (mild boast....)
Misread the recipe and put in 325 g of flour instead of the required 230 g. Oops. And need to go back and check on recipe file to remind myself if it's 1/2 a cup or 1 cup of milk. I put 1 cup which probably helped balance out the excess flour. But the net result was not as dense and moist as normally and needed longer to bake too. Ah well. OH liked them so that's ok. Might take a couple along to a friend I'm meeting tomorrow....if a mouse doesn't get them all in the night.....I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. @Brie - this is why I never bake, far too complicated all these measurements!! 😳😂
Had a lovely day; morning exercise routine, cleaning, cooking, writing, picking up my grandbaby, playing trains and having dinner. My grandbaby is now in bed and other than the train tracks all over my living room, the clearing up has all been done 😁 It's been really cold but sunny outside all day, I've just been out to take out the bin and it's gorgeous - the light from the kitchen is bouncing off the greenhouse and it looks like thousands of diamonds reflecting back 😍
Dinner tonight was mushroom and walnut mince bolognese with a rocket, broccoli sprouts, pomegranate, watermelon and strawberry salad with balsamic and the remaining butterbean puree - my grandbaby love bolognese and pasta so I seem to eat it regularly when I have him!!
The rest of the evening will be relaxing with some hibiscus and lemon verbena tea and watching some stuff on tv with dh. I received the dvd I ordered today - Thoroughly Modern Millie - I won't be watching it until next week but I'm really looking forward to it!! 😁

That does sound like a lovely day 😊❤️
With the mushroom and walnut mince bolognese, do you food process the mushrooms and walnuts as they look very finely chopped / small once cooked?

@KajiKita - yep, the mushrooms are finely chopped in the baby ninja chopper thing I have and the walnuts are soaked for an hour in hot water, then drained and receive the same treatment 😉 cook the mushrooms down until the majority of their fluid has gone then add the walnuts, garlic and onion granules and mixed herbs and cook until the mixture is pretty dry. I then add my courgette, tomato and basil sauce base that I made in the summer and cook until hot through. It's absolutely lovely 😍😁DNF: £708.92/£1000
