Leeds have a good rate of interest on their easy access account - and it demands a "Linked Account". I you could fund an initial deposit from your ebay sales, I don't see why you couldn't also use it for further withdrawals and deposits.
The OP does not want to sell on Ebay, only buy, so doesn't need a linked bank account.

The Leeds Building Society Easy Access account is a savings account not a bank account, so couldn't be linked to Ebay.

The Leeds account needs to be linked to a nominated bank account.

The Leeds account needs a minimum balance of £1000.

    Hi everyone!
I am new here and need a bit of advice!
I want to open an ebay account, just for buying, not for selling.
I am very suspicious of this company's practices as many of my friends who linked their bank accounts to it could not unlink them anymore, and had to close said bank accounts for good to get rid of ebay.
I wonder if any of the online banks - Monese, Starling etc - offers the possibility of having a "throwaway" or "burner" bank account, which I would only use for ebay transactions and close if I do not need it anymore? This way, I would not have to delete my whole bank account if I want to leave ebay...
Thanks in advance for any ideas!
My best advice is to read up on Ebay's payment options, not rely on your friends' experiences!
As many others have said, Ebay don't need to know anything about your bank account if you're buying. That should, I hope, be clear on Ebay itself.

I have an ebay account linked to my bank, not had any issues with it. Sold a load of old consoles, even old cassettes are worth it to some people! Ebay pay promptly

Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

I use Revolut for this personally, and just move my money manually every so often back in to savings/FSCS scope.

Early on when ebay dropped PayPal for payouts there were reports that some banks were taking the view that it was business activity, and Revolut was the account I cared about least at that point. It does have advantages leaving it separate tho, particularly if you end up needing to refund a buyer and whatnot.

Edit - sorry this is for selling. I can't see any reason to have a separate 'ebay only' account for buying but as others have said just open any account you like.
