Short Break for a Single Person

For some reason I find it incredibly difficult to navigate and quite frankly understand holiday websites. The websites drive me crazy and too be honest I'm not the most experienced holiday making person so tend to struggle.

Anyway I'm hoping some kind soul can come to my rescue and offer some advice.

Are there any simple to understand websites that cater for a single man who wishes to book a one week holiday in Spain?
Also are there likely to be any last minute deals?

Many thanks.

What sort of accommodation are you looking for?
With packages there can be often a single person supplement, whereas if you book flights and accommodation separately the price tends to be for the hotel room or whatever, rather than the number of people staying there.

Have a,look at Tui. Do a search and find the calendar that shows prices per month.
It can be frustrating as prices vary according to which airport you want to fly from. That can also affect the days they fly, useful to know. So go into a tui shop and ask.
Or do that anyway. They can be really helpful. They even printed all my docs and selected seats when I was unable to bring it up online.
Last minute deals can be up to 10 weeks away.
You can get some good prices and flughts and transfers included.
It's planes leave a lot to be desired internally but approach with a sense of humour, sandwiches and a drink.

There are singles holidays, Solos and Just You are the most reliable but you pay a premium for being looked after. They are short of men though  :D

Most major companies do single rooms for a supplement.

I'm with you it's tough online for singles. You get blanked and don't know why. Your room you're paying extra for can be at the back of resort etc so use Tripadvisor reviews to check out rooms and location.

Tui only do all inclusive, don’t they?

OP really needs to say where they are thinking of going in Spain, what they like doing, budget etc. City break versus a week on the beach, for example. Or both if you’re going to Barcelona.

As an example I use Jet2 packages for city breaks if I’m going with someone else. If I was going on my own I would book directly with the airline and use Booking.com, hotels.com, et cetera for the accommodation depending on what I was looking for.

    Basic self catering beach holiday.

I don't mind paying the supplement its just the whole experience of trying to book it seems so confusing.

You might be better off looking at packages then. Jet2 are not bad, and if you sign up to their emails they send out money off codes.

Then if you see something you like, have a look at the beat my quote section at the forum because there’s a travel agent on there who I have used who can normally  get a little bit extra off the package deals as well.

TUI do some hotels with dedicated single rooms at no supplement - presumably with choice of board.
Best plan is to visit a store for details.

Package holiday websites are designed for couples and families so often have little to offer single people or want to add a supplement.

As solo traveller, I usually just book the flight and hotel/apartment separately which gives you a lot more choice and flexibility. The only time I've done a package is for last minute deals.

@Doshwaster what website do you use because that’s what the OP is asking.

    1) Skyscanner and Kayak can give you ideas of routes and airlines but always book direct with the airline

    2) Accomodation usually through Booking.com but other hotel sites are similar. I've had mixed experiences with AirBnB so tend to avoid them now.

I do similar. As said above packages aren't designed for solo travellers, except perhaps specialist ones, I wouldn't even consider booking a package when travelling alone, but I often do when travelling with wife/family.
