Many hospitals have people who can help with pip forms. The cab or any disability charity in your area may also be able to help with the form. I would reccomend that you do get help with it because you need to use the right terminology to satisfy the requirements. It is can be a slog to get it and you may well need to appeal any decision. Your dh may also be entitled to other benefits.

@ladyholly thank you. The cardiac rehab nurse will probably be able to advise but I will also contact the CAB.11

@Madbat60 as your DP is dyslexic and on a lot of medication it may be helpful for him to have his medication placed into what is called a blister pack. This is done by the chemist. This will help reduce risks and it will be one less thing for him to worry about at this time.

@2Scratters thank you. I do his meds as I'm a retired nurse. I dish them out weekly into a compliance aid. We may go down the blister pack route later on. He has one to take on an empty stomach which is on his bedside cabinet. He takes it when he gets up for a wee during the night as we all do when we get older!11

Just to back up the advice from @ladyholly, do ask at the hospital for assistance in filling out the PIP application. Despite having what is termed a terminal illness, my daughter was turned down the first time she applied. After help from a specialist nurse, she was successful on the second attempt. Good luck. KA12

Just a quick reminder to check the condition of your hot water bottles. I hadn't realised mine had perished, and was very lucky to avoid a scaulding earlier today 😳.Live the good life where you have been planted.

I've had a couple perish on me over the years, I'm a terror for keeping them longer than I should. Fortunately both have just felt like a little pin !!!!!! on my way up to bed, rather than a full on boiling hot soaking 😱 Hope you weren't injured x12

@Madbat60 sorry to hear that you've had such a rough start to the new year. I'd echo what the others say about getting specialist help to fill in the pip as my FIL was turned down for a blue badge despite the fact he'd just had both knees operated on and couldn't walk the length of himself unaided. He reapplied, with his best friend - a lawyer - helping him to complete the form, and he was successful second time around. No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted.13

Hot water bottles - DH was horrified my hot water bottle was so old that it pre-dated the daisy symbol date stamp! I had to stop using it because the plastic stopper became brittle and broke. I reckon it must be just over 30 years old so it's had a good innings! I'm now the proud owner of a new hot water bottle as DH bought me a replacement for my birthday. No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted.15

@Madbat60, sorry to hear about the difficult start to the year. Sending hugs ❤️
I've finally got around to doing a freezer/pantry inventory. For the next few days we'll be eating from stores only. I've also put a list together to restock the freezer and pantry so DH and I will make a start on that tomorrow.
