The Used Fujitsu there is £247 with no warranty, but new with a 12 month warranty it's £260: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Fujitsu-LIFEBOOK-Notebook-DDR4-SDRAM-FPC04904BS/dp/B0B4WP7SV9onesixfive said:Check out Amazon WAREHOUSE, Amazon.co.uk: Laptop - Under £250 / 8 GB: Amazon Warehouse Deals
These are New, returned, pre-owned, or open-box products. All with warranty.
It's noteworthy that the Fujitsu has an optical disc drive.1 -

Wish I had a good answer to that.

Wondering why you have excluded Chromebooks? You get alot more for your money, run much faster than the same spec Windows laptop, more secure, boot faster, longer battery runtime, don't suffer from the gradual windows go-slow as cruft builds up and are generally supported longer.Fufu3333 said: A good name that will last me a while. Not interested in Chromebooks or refurbished models. Thanks all.
They are pretty much designed for the exact use-case you have described.
This is at the top end up your budget.
