Back to work today, have been to the office for a few hours, back at home now to finish off the day. Glad to come home as I got soaked through walking from the carpark to the office and that was with a coat and umbrella. Quick shower and changed into dry clothes.

Called to the tyre garage, no new tyres today, appears they still have some life in them and don't need to be changed just yet.
    Building society books update.
    Parcels posted.

Joined the save 12k in 2024. So far this month, I have put away £741.31,combination of payments to regular savers, premium bonds and interest, need to find another £258.69 by the end of the month to make my £1000 target.

    Good morning.

WFH today, busy out and about day tomorrow. Need to sort some paperwork out for a early meeting tomorrow, most important job of the morning, don't want to be rush to get it done in the morning as I have to leave early.

Been finding lately my energy levels are draining fast and by 7pm I am ready for bed! Looking to walk to dog three time a day for 20 minutes. Hoping this will give me some more energy and get us out in the fresh air more.

Today will be a NSD as was yesterday. Yesterday was good for surveys hoping for the same today.

    Good afternoon.

Lovely dry day here, pleasure to go for a walk this morning, even have a line of washing out.
Small grocery shop done today, used a gift card we had for Christmas from my Mum, still half the balance left. Managed to pick up a few yellow sticker ltems.

We have decided that it's time to get a new boiler, ours is 14 years old and struggling when the heating in on to fill a bath full of hot water. We have a pot of money that we save when we thought of moving,so we will use this money to get jobs done in the house.

Dinner this evening is a yellow sticker Indian Meal. Normal price £8.00,sticker price £4.80.

Just stumbled across your thread as the title stood out. I'm late 40's and am starting to think about saving for early retirement too. Will follow with interest!

Also a YS fan. Have not needed to food shop yet this year but went to the co-op on NYE and got a half price lamb joint reduced from £8 to £4. I never buy lamb unless it's YS, it's just too expensive but it's nice to spot good YS bargains so it doesn't feel like we're going without :)

    Good morning @~FlowerPot~

Curry was nice would not have paid full price though! Mr D is very fussy when it comes to food, especially bread as he wont eat it once its out of date. We have fat birds in our garden.
Washing didn't really dry much, my tumble dried broke last year and I never got a new one, I think I may get myself one for Christmas. Two peoples clothes are bad enough cant imagine five peoples clothes.

    Good morning @linz

I came to saving late due to paying back debt for many years. Nothing like a goal to focus the mind, saving as much as I can to make early retirement happen.
Well done on you YS lamb, there are some great bargains to be had ,right place right time.

wet clothes for 5 people is a bind thats for sure! Im not going to bother trying to get the washing outside today, i think popping the airers in stategic sunny spots will be much more successful. But at least it is bright and sunny here at the moment!

Frosty start to the day here, had to be careful on the dog walk due to the slippery pavement, we all got back in one piece. Breakfast was crumpets that need to be use and the last of the Christmas veg that was looking sorry for their selves have been peel ready for dinner this evening along with some pork chops from the freezer.

Though I would do a weekly round up to keep me motivated:

    Week 1
    * 6 NSD's this week.
    * Have £24.99 left on the gift card.
    * Sent £741.31 to savings need to make/find another £258.69 to make my £1000 saving target this month.
    * Budgeted  £80.00 for groceries/saving this week. £25.00 has been allocated to Fiver Friday for the rest of the month, the £30.00 envelope has been filled for the 52 week envelope challenge, leaving £25.00, undecided which saving pot this is going to go into.
    * Spent 0.99p of my £10.00 "me money" on a book from the charity shop and £1.30 on bread rolls, my contribution to works breakfast. £7.71 sitting in my purse, I will carry this over into next week.
    * Listed 15 items on eBay this week.
    * Have a bag full of clothes for the charity shop in the boot of the car.
    * One bag of shredded paper to go out with the recycling tomorrow, have a lot of old paperwork that needs to be gone, aming for a bag every fortnight.
    * Next weeks meal plan written out.
    * Wore a dress to work on my office day, instead of my usual jeans and a top.
    * Had conversation about change front room into a study. Planting the seeds Mr D is not one for change, so I need him to think its his idea!

Pleased with how week 1 of 2024 has gone.
