Box Broadband change T&C to allow CPI+2.9% price escalator - For information

I suppose this was to be expected. I thought a 24 month contract that didn't mention this would mean that I'd get 24 months at the original price and THEN the rise, but it seems not.

My free deal ends in April 2024. It's still the best deal in town form me and not available from anyone else even for more money.

  • I too have written to them asking for a copy of my contract and terms & conditions that were valid at the time. They called me and confirmed the price increase was not in at the time I signed, it is now added into Dec23 terms which I have to accept or give notice to cancel the service by 15 Jan24...

Box Broadband told me on the phone when I queried this that they accepted that they could not unilaterally change the contract terms. Now a year later Community Fibre who took over Box are trying the same in the second year and final year of my contract. We are currently with the Ombudsman. Why can't companies understand that a contract cannot be changed without agreement of all parties?
