If anyone's interested in how a battery system impacts usage, then so far this year (from 1st January 2023 to today) we've used 10kWh at the peak rate and 3483kWH at the off-peak rate. With those figures, you should be better off with the new EDF rates. Indeed, you should be better off with single rate. Single rate would put your total cost at £4325 but E7 EDF old cost at £4883 and Jan 24 cost at £4572 (used Eastern)
On that basis, have you inverted your peak and off peak figures by mistake?
By comparison, we are not far off you with annual use except its more like 10,242 off peak and 4,133 peak. On E7 (fixed at the 8p rate) that equates to £2873 a year compared to £4600 a year single rate. It would be £3,518 on the 2024 pricing

Our off-peak usage so far this year has been 3,483kWh, and the cost for that (again allowing for price variations through the year) has been £536.07. The standing charge will have cost (to the end of this year) £174.57.Looking around at the moment there seems to be half a dozen suppliers that are cheaper than EDF. Utility Warehouse are coming in top, at a projected saving over EDF of £225.17, followed in sequence by Rebel, Sainsbury's, E.On, British Gas, Ebico, Octopus and coming up last, Co-op. Then comes EDF's new prices, and finally the ludicrous price from Good Energy.1 -
We are located in the Midlands and have also seen a 27% rise in E7 rates, from January 2024, I wrote to EDF asking why such big increases, to date no reply, so I am switching to E-on .

had the same with EDF, main reason for being with them. We use c 12000kwh pa split 75% night 25% day. I’ve switched to UW as their night rate is 0.1011p per KWh and day is marginal plus for what it’s worth (not a lot..) their standing charge is a bit cheaper0

Might be teaching granny here (if so I apologise), but take care, as lots of suppliers are still quoting on the last quarter of 2023 rates, not the first quarter of 2024. I nearly got caught with this issue earlier today, with a price that looked very good. I rang and checked and it turned out the supplier hadn't yet updated their prices for 2024.2

Not sure your numbers add up, based on my data, those prices look way off what I'm actually paying. You are right. I misinterpreted your peak use to be 10k. i.e. 10,000. LOL
When corrected, you are clearly looking for the lowest off peak rate!

Spot on, all that matters to me is the off-peak and standing charge prices, if the peak rate price is sky high it doesn't matter at all, really.
