Yes, once the application went in on or before the 15th it's all ok. I guess there must have been a delay between applying to open it and it actually opening?

Yes I applied on the 14th, they have just taken some time to process.

Not so-

And the following must be done within 60 days of the account opening:

• Complete a full switch from their main current account to their new Co-operative Bank account using the Current Account Switch Service.
• Deposit £800, set up 2 Direct Debits, make a minimum of 5 card payments, and register for our online banking services, all with their new, eligible account.
• Complete a referral form when they receive their new Co-operative Bank account details, including their switch end date.

My switch took place on 21st Dec, received the bonus today. Excellent service. Hopefully they'll bring the Refer a Friend scheme back again in the future.

Wonder if they'll attempt to amend the terms if they do. Probably won't go well.

The website is pretty clear you need to have applied/ started by the cut off date. You have until the 12th to submit the form. People I know applied 13th December with a switch and the account has opened. The switch completion date is no later than the 11th January. Probably because they had a massive influx. They are still eligible for the bonus as long as the form is submitted by the 12th January. You can submit it as soon as you have your account switch date and then complete the conditions as and when. There was a 1 week back log from what Co-op advised but they’re pretty fast at paying once all conditions are met.
