How Is Royal Mail Doing - How Long Is Post Taking ?

First one arrived south of the M25 this morning

And another south of Bristol pm.

We get one delivery every couple of weeks, most of them posted within 100 miles of here.
Just outside Manchester, Terrible service.

How is Royal Mail doing ?
Appallingly, here.
Deliveries -  standard deliv, once a week regardless of Class.
Sorting Office hours 2 hours a day between 8 and10, closed Thursdays, Saturday 3 hours.

All over the place at the moment. I’m getting things delivered in some areas in 1-2 days, mostly though it’s nearer 4 or 5 days for 2nd class with some taking over a week. I have extended my despatch times on eBay to 3 working days and still sending same or next day just to try and stop buyers marking items as late. 

I’m also finding a lot of my items are no longer getting delivery confirmation, I’ve had a few bits of feedback for items where the tracking still shows the package is in the system.

And another one this morning.

Only one left now.

edit: last one arrived pm today

So 100% 2nd class delivered within 50 hours.

My Amazon stats for the last 30 days show their on-time delivery rate as 81.9%. That's quite a good sample, I'm sending about 200 parcels/day via RM. I have a suspicion that any post purchased through Amazon gets better treatment than the other post.

Are they tracked/signed for? About 2/3 of ours are delivered on time or the following day.
It's the stuff they cannot be measured on easily that's a joke where we live.

They're mainly Tracked 24/48. I never use signed for. That's a pretty poor delivery rate. It's meant to be 95%+.

Some second class letter post is taking up to two weeks to arrive.    I’ve been given two neutrals in the past week for late delivery

I have had 2 parcels delivered within 2 days of ordering.

Not sure about letters, am waiting on a couple of Christmas Cards I know have been posted a week ago!
