What do you want to insure against? Breakdown? Theft? Fire? This is an open forum, anyone can post and I just did !1

if you brought it from Argos for example they will usually offer insurance at purchase, or you can add it up to 30 days after I think.0

Self insure. Every time you buy something find out how much the retailer would charge for insurance and put that into a savings account. Then when anything goes wrong you'll have the money to buy a new one / repair it. Likely able to have a nice holiday on the excess after a few years as well.

It will covered on your home contents insurance. Specific cover for a Freesat box will not be worth the money. You will pay way more than what the box cost. If the box is faulty you contact who you bought it from to get the issue resolved.

Standard home insurance will cover it for the normal risks of theft, fire, flood etc.beyondthestars said:Just bought a Freesat 4 k box and would like to get some insurance for it. Can't find any brokers that offer this ?
I am guessing what you really want is an extended warranty/ service plan on it, rather than insurance, in which case there are various blanket policies that include Home Entertainment Equipment in their cover and some directly for set top boxes. Obviously these are not insurance so no protection from the Financial Ombudsman or FSCS so make sure you are comfortable that they company you are buying from is still going to be around in a couple of years time.0 -
I've been doing this for years now - ever since the price of extended warranties went ballistic x years ago. My "savings" account is several £thousands ahead as most electrical items have proved more reliable than in the past.Martin_the_Unjust said:
