I need to move my network service from Plusnet to a new provider as they are winding down their service and I'm wondering what options are available out there that offer value for money.

This is what I am looking for so any suggestions would be appreciated apart from using 3 or any service that uses their network:

- Monthly contract
- 20Gb+ data per month
- Use my plan abroad in Europe/other destinations
- Decent customer service

Thanks

  • 1p Mobile. 25Gb unlimited talk and SMS. £10 per month. No contract and is with the EE network. My daughter is with them. Excellent coverage and all EE features as far as I can see. No complaints.

But also use MSE SIM Only checker. Tells all!

    Good luck

  • Actually I just re-checked with MSE SIM Only checker and there are some better deals. Some are 12 month contracts though. Talkmobile (Vodaphone network) does 1 month rolling contract 30Gb for £7.95 but only via the MSE "Deal" button. That sounds pretty good as also has 5G and wi-fi calling. Not sure about customer service. Best to check there for yourself.

I took the EE £6 offer but I only needed 5GB of data.  Switched 2 accounts from Plusnet to EE and thought it was
worth trying to get a 3rd number that was not on EE. Initially they could not offer a decent deal but after rejecting
some of their deals they finally offered the same deal we got from the Plusnet switch. Unl Min/Texts and 5GB Data
    for £6 month rolling contracts.

Initially they said they don't do rolling contracts except the Plusnet deal, not sure how true that is?

They declared that they were 'winding down their service' back in May, but it's still going. So when is it actually closing? No date appears to have ever been published.

I have a friend on Plusnet Mobile who I tried to get to move to 1pMobile back in the spring having heard about Plusnet and she said "if it ain't broke don't fix it" as her excuse for not doing anything.

She's now finally moved as she told me she'd had an email saying Plusnet would close their mobile service on 31 Dec

I've finally given in and transferred our two plusnet lines over to EE, they're still being incredibly vague about when it will actually switch off, the email they sent out (to me anyway) only said that the 3G signal was being switched off (which it is, by EE) and that my plusnet sim didn't support VoLTE so calls would fall back to 2G, they didn't actually say anything about shutting up shop completely.

But In the end I switched because while our £9/month plusnet deals were still better value with 15gb of data, we rarely used more than 5 so it made sense to cut the price, and, while I don't know if its just a coincidence, or if its a subtle nudge, the voice service has been a bit unreliable lately, with calls between our two lines going straight to voicemail when both have a good signal and are free.

We transferred out a little while back but still getting emails as if we had an active mobile account but the values are all zero?

If I've understood correctly that's after switching to EE?
When you say both have a good signal, what sort of strength in asu?
