Not entitled to a New Sim only deal with existing provider (Lebara) if you want to keep number
Options
Just found that Lebara won't let me use the new MSE special sim-only plan deal I just bought now that they have 'ported/migrated'' my existing number to it because I am already with Lebara so bringing my old number has also brought my old deal. Explanation is that the latest deal is an advertising promotion for new customers only. I am not entitled to my £1.99 back as there is no way to do so now the new sim number has been closed. I pointed out that this isn't made clear in the promotion details on
Lebara but the advisor wouldn't comment.
Basically:
- existing provider new plan = new SIM mobile number.
- keep old number with existing provider = keep old plan (or change to another provider)
Not sure if this is true of
other companies but may be worth checking.

That's the way it's aways been.
You can't port your number between plans for the same provider.
You could port your number to another provider then port it back to the new plan but you have to decide if it's worth the the hassle, cost and the (small) chance it goes wrong and your number disappears.3 -
Port out to someone else like TalkHome mobile for 3 months.
Get new SIM with Lebara with new email address.
Port back.3 -
