Opening an online accoount
Unbeliveable
I have tried to open an account for a fixed rate ISA with Metro. I downloaded the app and managed to open a current account (bit of a faff). When I clicked on opening an ISA account it cannot be opened online, I have to visit a store. My nearest store is 134 miles from home. Do all ISA'S have to be opened in a branch?

You can open ISAs with the majority of providers online, but yes - you have to visit a branch to open an ISA with Metro.0

If it was a 1 year fixed rate ISA you were after, Metro have actually just dropped their rate down to 5.41% so you would have been better off opening a current account with Virgin Money and opening their exclusive fixed rate cash ISA instead, which is now the top-paying 1 year option at 5.50%. Virgin's current account and ISAs can be opened and managed online.
Just be aware though, that opening multiple current accounts might affect your credit rating.

Did you want/need a new current account? It's not required if you just want the ISA savings account.Unbeliveable said:I have tried to open an account for a fixed rate ISA with Metro.
