FTPP and digging for cable

Options
I was supposed get FTPP last week - via CityFibre with Zen. But engineer turned up quite late in afternoon and claimed they can't do it as it requires a cable to be laid by digging my driveway and they can only do it in daytime due to legal reasons!

Anyway, spoke with Zen and now waiting for an alternate installation day.

But how much digging is required on my driveway?

Happiness is buying an item and then not checking its price after a month to discover it was reduced further.

They have to get a cable from the termination point in the pavement to your house, so it depends.

They have to get a microduct that's about the width of pen from the toby box in the pavement to a box they will fit on the outside of your house. The amount of digging will depend on the route they have to take, they'll bury it under dirt as much as they can but it sounds like they'll have to cross your drive at some point.

I dare say you neighbours will be happy that CF , as a considerate company don’t dig up driveways at any time of the day or night , if this policy delays your installation for a short while , that’s a worthwhile price ….there is nothing stopping them turning up the day after though and starting the work during working hours , so as not to ‘p*ssoff’ your neighbours , as far as how much excavation, as stated ,the distance from a recently provided access point provided in the footpath outside your home to a suitable point on your house wall , this obviously will vary from property to property.
