Maturing Fixed Rate Isa

Options
I have a Fixed Rate Isa Maturing on 31/12. Do I have to wait for this to actually mature before starting a transfer process or can I do it in advance stating a date for the transfer to be done. I’m sure this has probably been asked before but I have looked and could not find a straight forward answer. First time I’ve had a fixed rate isa.

You can ask (in advance) for it to be transferred upon maturity.

In case you're not familiar with ISA transfers, you need to initiate these from the receiving provider's end, so identify who you want to transfer to and then check their ISA transfer form, which should give you the option of scheduling the transfer after the maturity date.
  • Yes, when you apply for the new ISA there should be an option to transfer an existing one and there is an option to transfer now and suffer any possible penalties, or wait for the fix period to end then transfer. It's usually transferred a few days after the fix ends

Although I think there is usually a limit on how far in advance this can be? Probably about 3 weeks before would be good timing.
