First Direct Switching Offer with Top Cashback

I'm yet to receive my incentive for switching (the £175), getting very close to the 28 day timescale they quote so if it doesn't materialise in this time I will pursue with a formal complaint. You should too if complied with criteria, not held an account with them before and over 28 days since switch complete.
A hard credit search and current account opening really isn't the end of the world and is really not likely to spook lenders. If you believe you can, you will. If you believe you can't, you won't.
Secured/Unsecured loans x 1
Credit Cards x 8 (total limit £55,050)
Creation FS Retail Account x 1
Creation Credit Sale 0% x 1 = £112.50pm x 20 mths
0% Overdraft x 1 (£0 / £250)
Mortgage Outstanding - £137,707.00 (Payment 13/360)
Total Debt = £7,400 (0%APR) @ £100pm - Stoozing1 -
Not really wasted (Adindas)
as you still have an account that you can switch in future all ready to go. You should at least get the cashback which is better than nothing and there were no other options to switch to at the moment. My cashback was not tracked at first so I raised a claim and a week or so later the cashback was paid. Unusual I agree but it happened. good Luck.
Cheers!!!1 -
Just a heads up for anyone like me who was expecting the incentive to be paid by now. I switched on 4th December and should have received it by 2nd January. I've just messaged them and they told me that due to the bank holidays over the festive period there's a slight delay.
Apparently it should be credited by the close of business tomorrow and I have to contact them again if it's not there by Friday morning.0 -
I too have been in the same situation (switch completed 6th December). I spoke to them via the 'in-app chat' function and reminded them that the 28 days (no mention of working days in their terms and conditions) is today 3rd January and if the £175 switch incentive payment isn't paid by close of business they have effectively breached their own terms and conditions. They have agreed that I should have received it and that I would receive it today but they couldn't tell me a time. I've just logged in (19:00pm) and still no sign.sparky0138 said:Just a heads up for anyone like me who was expecting the incentive to be paid by now. Just to bump this with an update in case anyone is still waiting. Top Cashback paid my £45 cashback today after I raised it as a missing tracked claim a couple of weeks ago.2

I have had to raise a missing tracked claim with TCB, too. Mine just says the claim is 'on ice' and I need to wait.0

when did you open account ? i mean after how many weeks it has reached the status of payable ?FreeFallerSaver said:Just to bump this with an update in case anyone is still waiting. Top Cashback paid my £45 cashback today after I raised it as a missing tracked claim a couple of weeks ago.0 -
Same as me. And being as it's "on ice" they're not even going to release the claim to First Direct until 08/02/24 so I'm not sure how FreeFallerSaver managed it but well done. 👍CGG_3 said:I have had to raise a missing tracked claim with TCB, too. I had to raise a ticket for this, they 'put it on ice' and then shortly after I had a notification that it was payable so I think you should find that it'll be quicker than initially suggested.sparky0138 said:

On a separate note I did have to raise a formal complaint with First Direct over their lack of switching incentive payment and remind them that they had in fact breached their very own terms and conditions (no payment was made within 28 days of switch completion). I got the payment (after some fairly to the point messages in their in-chat) and some goodwill on the 29th day.If you believe you can, you will. If you believe you can't, you won't.

I posted a few days ago about my TCB claim being "on ice", and it appears it will stay that way until the end of Feb if it doesn't meanwhile automatically track. I'm not bothered about it now as I just looked at my First Direct account in the app, and yesterday they credited me with £175 incentive. NOW NOTE: I HAVE PREVIOUSLY HAD A FIRST DIRECT INCENTIVE AND THE ONLY THING DIFFERENT WAS THE EMAIL ADDRESS I USED THIS TIME ROUND!
Everything else, my full name, address, phone number have not changed in the last 21 years, so how this slipped through the net, WHO KNOWS.2
