Am I able to reject faulty car?
Good morning,
I purchased a car from a dealership on the 8th august, nearly 2 weeks later the EML came on. I contacted the dealer after taking it to a garage to diagnose and they agreed to pay for a new DPF filter which was carried out on 8.9.23.
On the 18.10.23 I contacted them again as more faults flashed up, I quoted the consumer rights act and initially they refused to do anything and asked me to use my warranty which I refused. I emailed the finance company who agreed with me and got in touch with the garage. They asked me to take the car in on the 21.11.23.

Last Friday I asked for an update and they replied: egr cooler on order, faulty sensor for egr has already been replaced.
These two parts have now been replaced and the car is still showing a fault but when I called them Wednesday there was unsure and they needed their specialist to look at it, which they did yesterday according to my phone app.

I emailed the finance company yesterday morning asking to reject the car based on these two parts that it went in for hasn’t resolved the issue as I thought I could do as as there has been an attempt to repair those two problems that have been replaced.
The finance company have replied back with the following:
“as the vehicle is still in the phase of having the current issues inspected and repaired, that needs to be completed before we can pursue rejection”
Just wondering my next steps as those two things have been replaced that they said was the problem.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you and sorry for the long message.

You’ll have to wait until you get the car back as this is when they have completed their attempt at repair. If the light comes on again, you can then go straight to rejection as their attempt will have failed.0
