Air-source heat pump problems

LG ASHP, within 7yr warranty, failed 4 months ago. Had several visits from Climate Save Renewables of Wickford, Essex and 2 visits from LG, costing us £790 in call-out fees. New parts fitted but still no heat.
Now told we need another part (£690) and that the warranty is invalid as the installer has gone out of business.
Meanwhile we (both in our 70s) are left in sub-zero temperatures with only a wood burner.

Have you read your warranty documents what do they say?
Our Mitsubishi as an example.doesnt concern who fitted and the system just that it is serviced every year by a Mitsubishi accredited service partner of which there are lots to chose from.
You must review what your warranty says.
At least you have a wood burner and if by your title suggests you are in Suffolk the weather is turning milder for a stretch from today. (Silver linings and all that)
Does the system have an electric heater(immersion for hot water you can use)0 -

If you have home insurance, check to see if you have legal expenses cover, and if you do, call the Legal Helpline and ask them to check whether you should be covered under the warranty.
I think you have misrepresented the situation regarding call-out fees. You said you had been charged £790 but this isn't correct. You have been charged something for the work to source and fit the new parts. The call-out fee should be no more than £150 unless you called them out Out-of-hours as an emergency. They should have told you the call out fee before they set out to your property. Did they do this?
What part did they replace and what part are they saying you now need? The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.0 -
Many installers will give you an insurance-backed warranty which still applies in the event that they cease trading. Are you sure you don't have one of these?Reed0
