  • Anything for the carpet baggers?
Lol...ive been waiting patiently (or not) for the Coventry and Nationwide to be carpetbagged since mid 90s.

I have no shame....I think I bagged just about every BS turning into a bank, or takeover since Abbey National changed to a bank.....oh those were the days.

wonder if Coventry is planning to go back into the current account business !
Yes I wondered that too…. I used to have one but obviously it ended up getting closed.
from memory it was called the Coventry First current account
  • I still have one. It changed its name to Money Manager, but I use it to pay into from my main current account elsewhere then transfer out or to another Coventry account as needed. It provides SOs.

Is/was it really a current account though? It only had a cash machine card associated with it, no debit cards...

yes I think.you could be right
  • Does this mean if it goes ahead the co op will be rebranded Coventry?
  • Does this mean if it goes ahead the co op will be rebranded Coventry?
Most likely as it is them buying it out not the other way round. Unless they continue to run it as a separate entity.

More likely to stay separate, for IT reasons as much as anything

The Co-operative Bank has never been a mutual - so how can you 'effectively remutualise' it?
I think most of us understood what they meant.
    Something inaccurate?
