It is definitely going to be handled very differently to the way Nationwide are just going to consume the Virgin Money brand over time.

I genuinely couldn't be more pleased that a Building Society have bought the Co--op Bank, couldn't be a better match and a great outcome for the members and customers of both institutions. That said, some of the publicity is saccharine to say the least, and this video is almost unbearable.

Yes, but most of us on here are pretty knowledgable about finance and banking - to us a lot of banking advertising (like The Bank of Ant and Dec) is pretty patronising. To the general public possibly less so.

Coventry has appointed Andrea Melville, a former Lloyds and Santander director to become CEO of Co-operative Bank, subject to regulatory approval, from June. She'll also be Chief Commercial Officer of the overall group, which will continue to be led by Steve Hughes.

Interesting indeed. I wonder how complete the range of Coventry BS services offered is, and whether it's the same staff doing both.

Much nicer colour frontage too, the Newcastle under Lyme branch just down the road has the same:

Yes it seems to have been taken from the CBS branding 
Its the same staff using two different computer systems 
Its also the full range of CBS services

Received the email yesterday from my bank the Cooperative bank regarding the final legal sign off hearing. After reading the booklet I am very disappointed to see that the Cooperative bank have sold out their long standing customers and wavered my 35 years + with them. When the takeovers complete my years reset to zero and when I become a shareholder member at the completion of the takeover I have to wait 5 years to become a full member to receive any windfall if Coventry is taken over within those 5 years. Any windfall within those 5 years would be donated to the charitable foundation and not be paid to me without any choice. My time with the Cooperative bank should automatically transferred over to Coventry. I have called the helpline and registered my objections. The handler agreed with me and said this in unfair. Please register your objection if you agree. It’s the principal.

Its worth remembering that you were a customer of Co-op Bank not a shareholder in it.
