Hello all,

On the 25th of May 2023, EON NEXT changed my meter for a smart meter. Until then i had paid for what i have used.
Since then, i havent changed my direct debit which is £67 a month (and that is what i spent during the winter months on my 2 bed flat) and i have been building credit. This month all of the sudden i have received a statement saying that from the 25th of May to the 1st of July i have spent £354. Why this wasnt pick up before? i dont know but this is completly wrong as the property was empty for most of the time in June. The customer servicing team keeps saying that this is the consumption but it is failing to tell me how it is worked out from the old meter to the smart meter. How do i escalate this withing EON NEXT? or shall i open a complaint?
Thanks

Surely the bills will have two sets of readings on which would account for the meter swap out. Post the bills, removing any identifiable info.

and these are the collector reading which are incorrect.
The collector readings for gas are correct (as opening readings for the new meter). So they should see this correct?

The problem is that the person who replaced your old meter completely disagrees with the electricity meter readings you had been supplying

Your reading on 9th May was 33135

Their reading on 25th may was 99771

Hopefully you had the foresight to take photos of your old meter before it was replaced so your readings can be verified.

Not wishing to disagree with R_R, but there seems to be a missing bill (or at least, a set of missing meter readings) for the period 9th May to 25th May?

But @QrizB, surely you don't believe such a large change in meter reading is likely to have occurred in such a short space of time?  Particularly not in the light of the difference between the 6th April reading and the 9th May one.

When I had my meter replaced, I took a photograph of the old one before the installer arrived because I did not trust them not to make a mistake.  Either the "data collector" made a mistake or the OP has been consistently misreading their meter.

No I don't, but it's possible that the readings given on the 25th May bill are indeed the opening readings of the new meter.
If the OP had been charged for 33135 - 99378, there would be ~66000kWh of daytime electricity charges on the 30th June bill. But the bll only shows 656.8kWh of charges. There must be missing info.
@heytoki is there a sticker next to yuor new meter that shows the closing readings of the old meter, and the opening readings of the new one?
