    just for your information.
your postie doesnt like those unadressed junk mail items either ;)
dont do as one of my customers did and threw them in my face as i delivered them.
    we had a 'chat' ;)

door2doors in RM speak. believe me most would happily not do them but are required to.(sackable pffence not to!)

go with the opt out as posted in the thread.

RM are pushing for more of these items of 5+ per week...

    "5+" - you're kidding??? Oh dear.

In that case, perhaps we should all show solidarity with our local posties, and bundle up all the RM delivered "junk" and send it regularly in a large UNSTAMPED envelope to:

    Adam Crozier
    Royal Mail Group Ltd
    148 Old Street
    London
    EC1V 9HQ

    ;)

this was one of the many issues during the strike.
right now your postie gets 1.7p or so for each delivered D2D.
so for my duty on 750 calls and 3 D2D's its about £30 but a huge PITA ;)

what RM propose is the D2D payment is included in your wage every week/month but the agreed limit of 3 per week is lifted.
this also includes elections where you can have 20-30 D2D's(admitadly a nice earner) but people come in on their days off to complete as there are just to many.

RM love D2D's as the payment hasnt risen in over 10 years but you can bet the price the customer pays has.

if they bothe you then use the opt out on rm's site but in edinburgh at least there are 3+ more companies doing D2D's

be aware if you opt out you wont get the likes of election materials, local council newspapers and the likes.

It's sad to see the business moving away from the core task of delivering addressed solicited mail over to unaddressed unsolicited mail, but I guess "it's more profitable". I'd favour encouraging more business by delivering residential mail when people are in and able to receive packages, signed for items etc. rather than daytime when a lot of people are out and a whole lot of items presumably go on a pointless trip out and back again.

I used to work for RM I knew people who delivered D2D on days off and after work, I could never see why they do it as the bonus is rubbish I rather do it even if the bags are bulging with mail then deliver them in my own time, and pay is rubbish. I would rather not do it job was a busy on at that anyhow.
