Elnur Gabbarron heaters
Has anyone got anywhere with the issue of these heaters being not fit for purpose. My mother had these installed under a government scheme. The house is freezing cold and costing £15 a day. I want to take this issue further but really don’t know where to start. I have spoken to the company who are frankly useless in trying to resolve why the house is cold. Any suggestions would be welcome. Thank you

More info please - how many, what are the sizes of the heaters ? : how are they controlled - from the Smart meter itself, a timeswitch, radio time switch? Are you sure they are only coming during the night-time E7 hours ? What the night and day ratesNever pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0

Each heater should have two supplies, a permanently-live supply tat operates the control logic & top-up heater, and a timed E7 supply that's only live at cheap-rate hours.
If she doesn't have a dual supply, but still has E7, se'll have to check that the inbuilt timer has been set to exactly match her E7 hours.

I’ll try a search, but as I don’t have any clear recollection of what the title was, or when exactly it was, I’m none too hopeful…Earpy said:

edit - I wonder whether any other regulars might recall the thread. It involved if I recall correctly the Elnur NSH’s being fitted in a council or HA property and again the OP’s mother (I think, so a lot of parallels with this thread) finding them very expensive to run…the MSE hive mind finally worked out that the balancing element was kicking in automatically as I recall. ( @Gerry1 - you have a good recall for stuff like this - any ideas?)🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

And whether they have a single supply or two? And if the consumer has an E7 supply? For all we know they could be panel heaters!Edit to add:If you're sure they are storage heaters, this thread explains how they work and this thread talks about the balancing element - which should only run occasionally during peak hours, provided the ehater is correctly sized and programmed. But there's a lot more scope for error if they're storage heaers with a single supply rather than done properly with dual supplies.N. They are storage heaters and they are connected to the E7 supply and also the day rate. I have spoken to the technical department at the suppliers of these heaters and they have changed the settings many times to no avail. I think I am looking to see if anybody has actually challenged whether these heaters were suitable as replacements for elderly people. My mum is 80 and the general house temperature is 15 degs even though the heaters are set at 21. The daily cost is very expensive. I am just looking for a solution as nobody wants to take responsibility neither the supplier or the company who provided them under the government schemeQrizB said:Earpy said:Has anyone got anywhere with the issue of these heaters being not fit for purpose.I'm not aware of there being anything wrong about Elnur heaters. Ok so what is the energy use during the day precisely for these heaters taking away all other items on that use electricity? Have you performed an audit to make sure these heaters are the issue?Earpy said:

If you haven't performed an audit of the appliances and say electric shower and checked the immersion isn't constantly heating then what do you believe to be the power draw of these heaters during the day?0 -
What are the E7 rates? And is the problem night or day usage.
